Dubai: Amchigele Samaj All Set to Celebrate 7th anniversary on Nov 25

Dubai, Nov 21: The UAE Amchigele Managing committee announced that their 7th anniversary celebrations will be a grand farewell to the year that has passed and will be held on Friday November 25 here at JSS International School, Al Barsha.
 
The event is scheduled to start at 9.00 am and will go on till 7.00 pm in the evening.

In addition to the dance, drama and other cultural cum infotainment programmes performed by its members scholastic awards for children will be distributed; where in talented children from the Samaj would be felicitated.

Dr P Dayanand Pai of Century Group will be the chief guest at the programme. He is Bangalore’s leading real estate baron and chairman of Century Group. He has made a successful foray into an array of fields like housing and construction, hospitality, education, information technology, trading and consumer goods.

There will be Bhajan Recital by Balachandra Prabhu, who is a young and talented Hindustan Classical Vocalist from Karnataka and a dedicated student of the Kirana Gharana. 

Vijay Prakash and troupe will be performing at the event he has been a Student of Suresh Wadkar. Vijay is a playback singer from Bollywood and has been one of the lead singers in the Grammy Award Winning song 'Jai Ho' from the film 'Slumdog Millionaire'.  

Vijay's latest songs include 'Dil Ki Hai Tamanna' from the movie 'FORCE’. He has sung in other Hindi films such as Blue, Yuvraaj, Kaal, Swades, Lakshya, Matrubhoomi, Cheeni Kum, Raavan and Tere Naam. He has also sung in Kannada, Tamil and Telugu movies.

Prakash was a participant in the singing talent show 'Sa Re Ga Ma Pa' on Zee TV, hosted by Sonu Nigam. He made it to the mega-finals in 1999. He has also hosted the Kannada reality show 'Sa Re Ga Ma Pa' on Zee Kannada and does fusion shows with Ustad Zakir Hussain.

Other eminent singer to perform at the event is Divya Raghavan, who is a well known name in Kannada music. Trained in Carnatic Classical music from age five, she has further honed her skills by adding Kannada Sugama Sangeeta, Devotional music and Film music to her repertoire.

She has to her credit recorded Ghazals, Bhajans, and Folk and Film songs in Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Hindi, Marathi, Gujarathi and Bengali. 

The Annual Day will have a grand ending with the distribution of interesting prizes during the Raffle Draws.
 
The managing committee has invited all Samaj Members and their families to attend the function.

    Function was grand success but only i missed konkani ( amchigelepan), next time please arrange all programmes in konkani not in hindi / english.
