Riyadh: Dakshina Karnataka Muslim Okkoota Holds Annual Get-together

Riyadh, Nov 21: Dakshina Karnataka Muslim Okkoota (DKMO) Riyadh, Saudi Arabia organized its biggest event of the year, a spectacular “DKMO Annual Get-Together-2011” recently at Al Roshd Resort, Riyadh.

The program began with a recitation of verses from Holy Quran by Faisal, Twaha and Tauheed.

Soon after the Qirath, Mohammed Nawaz Gurpur, President of DKMO, Riyadh welcomed all the guests and advised all the committee members of DKMO to join him on the stage for a group photo session.

Delicious dinner with soft drinks, kheer and ice cream, was served during the event.
The outdoor games for men's (30 Yard Cricket and Tug-of-War) and for children (Running Race, Frog Race, Sack Race, Musical Chair) were well organized by Abdul Azeez and his team. All were participated with great enthusiasm and delighted in the activities.

Parvez Ali conducted the spot games with tickling questions for men's and children, and all were enjoyed this part of the event.

This year’s event was completely focused on entertaining the gathering. And the event was a grand success as there were 1200+ guests including children were attended. Many of the philanthropists attended this event.

Kadesia Medical Center orgainsed a Free Medical Camp at the venue. Darussalam Book Store displayed some of the religious books for sale. Indomie Noodles was also served during the event.

For ladies side, women volunteers of DKMO conducted quiz programme, sports, games, and housie housie etc.

Many of the reputed companies, establishments and some philanthropic individuals respectively contributed in various forms of donations to make this event a grand success. DKMO has been actively organizing various activities like Get-Together Programs through which they are not only trying to entertain the audience but also bringing the people of South Canara and other regions together.

Eliyas Mohideen Yermal was felicitated with a certificate of appreciation for his outstanding performance in getting maximum number of members for DKMO.

Glittering trophies and attractive prizes were distributed among the participants of sports and games. Finally, General Secretary Abdul Azeez thanked all the Sponsors, Donors, Volunteers, Attendees and Executive Committee Members of DKMO, Riyadh for extending their support for this noble cause and making this event a grand success.

Dakshina Karnataka Muslim Okkoota (DKMO) a social organization based in Riyadh, which came in to existence in the year 2008 with their prospective objectives like:

Create link between all major Jamaaths of South Karnataka.
Common guidance and help to all for the educational, social and economical upliftment of the community.
Helping NRI brothers of South Karnataka through DKMO Projects
Relief Activities through FRF Scheme
Participating actively in all aspects for the development of the community
 
DKMO is involved in helping the poor and needy in Riyadh as well as the people of South Karnataka. The first project implemented by DKMO was "Family Relief Fund" (FRF) Scheme which gives an immediate financial support for the family of the deceased member of DKMO. So far they have supported for five families. And also they have helped people with immediate medical aid in case of accidents and sickness, and contributed in repatriating patients back home with terminal illness.
