Ajman, Nov 4: The 5th meeting of the Gulf Medical University Academic Council for the year 2011-2012 was held in the campus of Gulf Medical University on Wednesday November 2.
Eminent personalities included Dr Ahmed Bin Mafhoudh, Consultant/Internist and GMU Students Coordinator from Mafraq Hospital, UAE, Dr Fadhil Dhouri, Consultant and Head of Department of Medicine, GMU Clerkship Director, Sheikh Khalifa Hospital and all the Deans, Medical Directors from Gulf Medical University attended the Academic Council Meeting.
The meeting began with the announcement of new commission of accreditation standards for 2011. Recent updates of Medical Council Licensing procedures in Singapore, Nigeria was presented to the Academic Council. The list of graduates for the College of Medicine (MBBS) and College of Allied Health Sciences (BPT) was presented for approval of the Academic Council.
A status report and future plans from the College of Medicine with different clinical sites, College of Dentistry, College of Pharmacy, College of Continuing Education and Community Outreach, Medical Education Unit and Research Division were presented to the Academic Council.
The Academic Council announced that the Online Gulf Medical University Medical Journal would be out in a month.
