Mumbai, Oct 31: The fifth and final show of the ongoing 'Wilfy Nite' tour concluded at Mira Road, which is also known as 'Mini Mangalore', on Oct 30 Sunday evening.

The packed audience at the open grounds of St Joseph's Church premises witnessed WIlfy Nite performed by well-known artistes from Mangalore, including the Rebimbus family.

Fernandes Associates, led by Wilson Fernandes sponsored the show.

The parish priest of St Joseph Church Mira Road, Fr Dominic Vas presided over a felicitation programme and honoured Konkan Maina Meena Rebimbus. Bhayandar MLA Gilbert Mendonca was the chief guest.

Dominic Mendonca of Catholic Bank, Gilbert Baptist of Malaika, entrepreneurs Robert Noronha, Maurice Pinto Hirgan, and Vishwas Rebimbus were the guests of honour.

"There was a time when Konkani songs were rendered in Hindi tunes, but Wilfy Rebimbus brought revolution to Konkani music by composing his own songs and tunes. As result, today Konkani music is becoming popular with a number of composers emerging everyday. Wilfy created a milestone, and was an achiever par excellence," said Fr Dominic Vas in his presidential address.

Earlier, St Joseph's Konkani Welfare Association's president John Crasta welcomed the gathering, while Joy Paladka introduced the guests to the audience. Secretary Sofia D'Sa proposed the vote of thanks.

Meena Rebimbus, Veena Pais, Vishwas Rebimbus, Prem Kumar, Claud Dsouza, Babitha Pinto, Ivan Sequiera, Munita Veigas, Charleen Rebimbus and other rendered songs composed by the late WIlfy Rebimbus, Veena and Vishwas Rebimbus.

Dolla along with compere Leslie Rego added a dash of humour to the evening.
