Mumbai, Oct 26: First of the five musical treat in the form of tribute to Late Wilfy Rebimbus has kick-started here at Bhaidas Hall, Vile Parle (E) on Wednesday October 26.

The first wilfy nite event was organized as a part of 23rd anniversary of metro’s well-known St Peter's Association (Barkur).

The Rebimbus family consisting of Meena Wilfy, Vishwas Rebimbus, Charlin V Rebimbus and Veena Rebimbus offered a Diwali special musical bonanza to the Konkani music lovers which were thoroughly enjoyed by the audience.

Claude D’Souza, Prem, Babitha Pinto, Ivan Sequeira among other singers mesmerized the gathering and they were supported by musical instruments from Pappan and troupe’s Pitambar Padmanabhan and Joswin. Dolla and group amused the audience through mimicry and hilarious jokes. Top dance group from Mangalore enthralled the crowd with some stupendous performances.

Leslie Rego compered the show in his unique style.

Association president Simon Peter Furtado, honorary secretary Ivan Rebello, secretary Eric Coelho, treasurer Antony Dais among other office-bearers and Wilfy’s Konkai Nite’s Mumbai programme’s convenor Henry D’Silva among others were present on the occasion.

The event was witnessed by a packed audience on a Deepavali holiday.

Please don’t worry Mr. Castelino… Wilfy’s shows will not go empty.. I heard about the morning show that there were over 1000 crowd present.. I witnessed the evening show at Borivili at the Thackery Hall, Ive seen people going back without getting the tickets. There may be some seats empty reserved for the VIP’s or sponsors.. It was the almost full house show… It was a wonderful musical Nite put up by Wilfy’s troupe.. every Konkani speaking people should witness this.. Performance by every artist was extraordinarily marvelous. One of the best shows I’ve ever witnessed in the Konkani fraternity. Keep up the good work. Konkani people are with you.
