Mangaluru, May 9: The late Dr G G Laxman Prabhu, former professor of the urology department at KMC Mangaluru, has been honoured with the President’s Award of Merit by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS).
The award will be bestowed upon Kavita Prabhu, wife of the late Dr G G Laxman Prabhu, by President Draupadi Murmu during the afternoon of May 10 at the 22nd convocation ceremony of the board, to be held at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi.
During his tenure as the Head of the Urology Surgery department at KMC Mangaluru, the late Dr Prabhu successfully managed numerous complex medical cases. He also served as the secretary of the Urological Society of India and presented scientific papers at various international conferences, both in India and abroad.
