Bengaluru, Apr 29: Leader of Opposition in Legislative Assembly R Ashoka on Monday criticised the ruling Congress party for holding protests what they termed as “meagre” release of drought relief funds by the Centre to approach the Supreme Court and hoped that the government gets hauled up.

Addressing media persons in Bengaluru, he said Siddaramaiah regime’s claims that the Centre has released less than a quarter of the request from Karnataka towards drought relief and pointed out that it was done as per the norms and not just on the demand from the State.

The government is free to approach the apex court and get pulled up, he said and pointed out that the Narendra Modi regime has released the maximum quantum of assistance to the State as compared to the UPA.

Answering questions on the alleged sex scandal involving JD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna, who is grandson of former prime minister H D Deve Gowda and nephew of JD(S) leader H D Kumaraswamy, Ashoka pointed out that Kumaraswamy himself has clarified that “all are equal before the law and the guilty must be punished.”

The State government has constituted a SIT to probe the episode and said it is left to the government to take further action, he said.

The BJP leader expressed his condolences on the demise of senior leader V Srinivas Prasad and described him as a committed leader.

When issues like drought in state are addressed, ruling and opposition must put collective efforts to sort the issues and help distress people through compensations and not expect political gains.

Exactly. Both the parties must workd towards betterment of our country. Grave issues 1. Global warming. Scarecity of water. Implement the measures. Second unemployment. Create jobs. In Mangalore we have enough colleges to educate youngsters but not enough companies to provide jobs.

BJP MP's and leaders are not worried about the voters. They are worried about their Bosses. Then, how they expect people to vote for them, if they are not capable to fight for the justice.

That is a decent suggestion. But, also you would want to ask, why did they not go since Siddu became CM? Why did he take the media route? Congress knows that you cannot lie your way out in supreme court. That is only possible with ignorance rich people.

First you went to the media to politicize the state of drought victims. So tit for tat you got mouth breaking response from Siddu to ask centre to release drought relief fund. Give your decent suggestions to your feku Maharaj. We don’t take suggestions from fekus who loot people with illegal electoral bonds which was banned by SC.

Instead of assertively demanding the withheld relief package due to the state.. enjoying the suffering of the hapless farmers and the common man who are somehow endearing the wrath of Mother Nature.. down with such creatures.. ..

It looks like BJP leader Ashoka is happy with meagre drought relief, center given to karnataka. Drought has affected lakhs of farmers and families, with scarcity of drinking water and apart from that loss of livelihood. It is not possible though to compensate fully for the losses, atleast center could have given what is essential. It spends so much on advertisements of self promotion. Even half of it given to the relief, it could have saved many distressed middle class families. Pity.

Karnataka govt doesn’t go by your advice and directions. Siddu is only asking what is just and as per the field report after assessment of the drought disaster committee had recommended. It’s people’s money, so not your’s or SC’s money.
