Mangaluru DC bans sale of liquor on polling, vote counting days

Mangaluru, April 23: The deputy commissioner and district magistrate Mullai Mugilan M P has ordered closure of all the liquor shops, liquor sale depots, liquor manufacturing distilleries, star hotels and toddy shops across Dakshina Kannada district from 6 pm on April 24 till midnight on April 26 in view of the Lok Sabha elections.

The deputy commissioner has also extended this order to the day of counting of votes from June 3 midnight till the midnight of June 4.

The order has been issued with a view to maintaining law and order on the days of polling and counting of votes.

    I Think 80% at least one familiy member consumes liquor. already 40% hiked just in one year. every family bare 5000 to 6000 bare for for liquor.Hope they will think and vote.no development work from last 11 months.Only Nangu free Ningu free

    DC Saab..... you do whatever you want..... but our people knows what to do at least on this matter We Indians..... well versed in all aspects when Govt Authority says don't do that or not allowed to do that..... but our people will do that purposely just because it was not allowed Take the example of Liquor Ban in Gujarat and Bihar..... do you think they are not consuming Liquor???

    @ Yogi - comment has no meaning, educate yourself, dry days are SOP during election / counting days. What has the CM got to do with this ? Ofcourse free loaders aka thotte grakhis will have to survive a rationed dose, to keep their brains working.
