Dubai: UAE Brahmana Samaja to celebrate 20 years with 'Vimshathi Uthsava' event on Apr 13

Dubai, Apr 11: UAE Brahmana Samaja Dubai is gearing up for a grand celebration marking its 20th year of existence with the ‘Vimshathi Uthsava’ event on April 13. The organization has truly made history by organizing 20 programmes throughout the year, setting a remarkable precedent in the community. Their commitment to preserving tradition and fostering community spirit, especially among the younger generation, is commendable. Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, they've persevered, adapting their activities to adhere to safety guidelines while continuing to provide spiritual and cultural support. 

The day-long programme will be held on April 13 in Jumeirah Baccalaureate School, Jumeirah, Dubai which will commence around 9 am and will go on up to 6 pm in the evening.

First to be noted: Community organizational activities are strictly being monitored by the local authorities and legal permission needs to be obtained to conduct such activities in public. In such situation non-profit community organization’s arranging their respective programs itself is an adventurous looking into the cost of arranging such events. So, most of the organizations are holding a maximum of 3 to 4 events a year whereas UAE Brahamana Samaja Dubai, throughout this year, have broken all the records by holding 20 preciouses, memorable events and has created a history in UAE. 

UAE Brahmana Samaja Dubai is an umbrella organization for those Brahmans mainly from the coastal belt of Karnataka who come in the pretext of finding a job and get settled in UAE be it Shivalli, Havyaka, Kota, Smartha, Vaishnava or any sects of likeminded Brahmins this organization is open without any fees to get enrolled. This is an organization where you be a bachelor or a family, can join any time as per your convenience and be an active member for free. 

Mantra: The phrase ‘Sarve Jana Sukhino Bhavantu’ is a powerful Sanskrit chanting mantra that means ‘May all people be happy’ a beautiful expression of the yogic tradition's core teaching of selflessness and compassion. It suggests that we should work toward the happiness and well-being of all people, regardless of their background. In such a way is the UAE Brahmana Samaja Dubai who invites and gathers people of all religious faiths together during their celebrations to keep up the harmony in this part of the world. 

Core Activities: From the existence year of 2003 onwards the core activities of the Samaja is to keep the tradition alive in this part of the world especially for those children born and brought up here and who are missing the core values of the religion and festivities, being away from the larger community back home.

Starting with Ugadi festive day conducting Shri Satyanarayana Pooja, Navaratri period having Durga Namkaskara and Annual Picnic outdoor meet it went on adding more programs as per the interest of the enthusiastic members with Upakarma, Shani Pooja and during Ramadan time ‘Blood Donation’ drive. Later conducting competitions for the children in singing, dancing, quiz and felicitating the toppers in education and similar fields, honouring arriving guests those who are well-known personalities back home, providing stage for the arriving Artistes with various programs, monitory help wherever and whenever needed, medical helps and very many cultural programmes conducting at least 6 to 7 a year UAE Brahmana Samaja Dubai has so far have successfully conducted more than 150 events in these 20 years providing stage opportunities for more than 500 Artistes from various parts of the world.

Corona Question: Even during Corona, honouring the prevailing restrictions, UAE Brahamana Samaja continued various poojas as per the tradition in Purohit’s house following the distance maintaining and have conducted more than 20 events similarly. Pejavara, Puthige Shree Swamiji’s reciting, speeches of the scholars, harikatha by the learned, musical, wellness meet are some of the events concluded by the members in the silence of corona encouraging the souls during the pandemic period to be sound and alert. 

Bridging the hometown: Provided Rs10 lac charity for the Vidhyarthi Kendra in Pajaka during the Paryaya Shree Swami’s period, shared financial assistance during the fund collection for Golden roof in Krishna Gudi during Palemar Shree Paryaya period, Sponsoring two UAE visits of Puthige Shree Swami in 5 years’ time, Shelter for the Udupi Tushimama Team during their pilgrimage in Dubai are some of the pro-activities done in bridging with the home town.

Furthermore, whenever any great personalities and achievers arrive from the home town to UAE, Brahamana Samaja members identify them and honour them as and when known. Bannanje Govindacharya, ASN Hebbar, stage and film actress Jayashree, Dr Vidyabhushan, Dr K P Puthuraya, Harikrishna Punaroor, Harikatha Vidhushi Rukmini Hande are some of them highlighted here.

Vimshathi Uthsava: With the blessings of Rajarshi Shree Veerendra Heggade, this year 20th ‘Vimshathi’ annual celebration started with holistic new year ‘Ugadi’ Shree Satyanarayana Pooja continued with various celebrations throughout the year with varieties of unique programmes. Along with the usual poojas conducted ‘Kishora Kaushalya’ for the tiny aspirants of all communities, ‘Makkala Manadangala’ for children, ‘Natya Sinchana’ for the elder dance enthusiasts, ‘Mussanja Maadurya’ for the aspirant vocalists, ‘Yaksha Maddale’ (Taala Maddle) to keep the Fork Art live, ‘Joshiyavara Jyothealli’ veneration with Dr Joshi, ‘Saadhaka Sammana’ to Ex-Minister Raghupathi Bhat, Nrityaguru Karnataka Kalashree Vidwan Chandrashekar Navada, Senior Yakshagana exponent Madhoor Radhakrishna Navada, ‘Chende Vadhaka’ Padmanabh Upadyaya, ‘Maddalegara’ Chaitanya Padyana, Multi-faceted ‘Yaksharadhaki’ Sumangala Ratnakar, “Guru Gaurava” felicitation for all those visiting Purohits, Special event with ‘Varamahalakshmi Pooja’, ‘Tulasi Pooja’, invited all Communities and conducted ‘Rangoli Competition’ which were all part of the procession of events concluded in the celebration of ‘Vimshathi Uthsava’ and the last of it is awaited to be conducted in an extravaganza being the final event for which all preparations are being actively going on to present on April 13. 

Honourary Guest Dundiraj: Full day event is being planned with invitees from all over the world from various communities including very many well-known personalities from Brahmana Samaja from back home. Variety of programmes are in schedule with traditional stage performances, artefacts exhibition, healthcare camp, lucky draws, various prizes are some of the activities for the daylong celebration. 

Famous notable personality humorist, poet, dramatist from Kannada Film Industry, Dundiraj will be the honorary guest of the event who will be felicitated during the programme. A special Yakshagana Ballet titled ‘Dakshaadwara’ will be presented by the local artistes with arriving well-known Bhagavata by Shree Chinmaya Bhat Kalladka, Yakshagana exponents Vidya Kolkur and Deepak Pejavar (Sarvasachi role) will be the attraction of the day. 

Vipra Spandana: In commemoration of the 20 years of existence in UAE, Brahmana Samaja will be releasing a Souvenir in remembrance of various activities held by the members of the Samaja along with collections of various articles shared by them. 

Vipra Sanchaya: A handy reference book title ‘Vipra Sanchaya’ with details of job, business, hobby, achievement and contacts of all those Karnataka Brahmans residing in UAE will be unveiled during the programme. This will further highlight the significance of this milestone. 

‘Sarve Jana Sukhino Bhavantu,’ overall, the 20th anniversary celebration of the UAE Brahmana Samaja is set to be a memorable and inclusive occasion, bringing together people from all walks of life to celebrate unity and cultural heritage.

    Dubai Brahmana Samaja under the leadership of our friend Sri Sudhakar Pejavar has been doing yeoman's service and providing an excellent social platform for the community in Dubai since 2003. They are instrumental in bringing together the entire community to celebrate various festivals and activities including during the visit of Sri Sri Sugunendra Teertha Swamiji of Puthige Mutt during 2018 and 2022. Hats off to their dedication and effort in the various 20 years celebrations culminating with Vimshathi Vaibhava on 13th April. Wishing them all the very best.
