Udupi, Apr 9: "Congress is in an abominable condition and in search of candidates," said Nalin Kumar Kateel, former president of the state BJP unit.

Addressing reporters here at the district BJP office he said, "Congress party is in an unpleasant condition with lack of candidates to go to the hustings."

While referring to Jayaprakash Hegde, Nalin Kumar Kateel said, "Even though Congress is the ruling party they are unable to get a single seat in the Lok Sabha elections. So, the Congress is trying to get the members from the other parties and is giving tickets to them."

Commenting  about Eshwarappa's candidature from Shivamogga, Nalin Kateel said, "He is the senior leader of the party and will be respected. He is responsible for the growth of the party all over the state. Seniors will consult him as he has expressed his views. This is a election fought on ideologies and not on mere castes. Our fight is against the Congress. Congress has no candidates and its trying to pull Dingaleshwar Swamiji into their party."

District president Kishore Kumar Kundapura, BJP leader Geetanajali Suvarna, BJP SC Morcha state vice-president Dinakar Babu, Suresh Nayak, BJP leaders  Uday Kumar Shetty, former MLA Raghupathi Bhat, Mattar Ratnakar Hegde, Vijay Kumar Udyavar, Dinakar Shetty Herga, Girish Anchan, Shrinidhi Hegde  and others were present.
