23 of 25 ‘corrupt’ opposition figures find respite joining BJP since 2014: Report

Daijiworld Media Network – New Delhi

New Delhi, Apr 4: At least 25 prominent politicians from opposition ranks, who were under investigation by Central agencies in corruption cases, have shifted allegiance to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) since 2014, when Narendra Modi assumed office as Prime Minister of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government.

According to a recent report from The Indian Express, out of these 25 politicians, 23 have seen their cases come to a halt or get closed altogether after joining the BJP. The report, published on April 3, highlights a concerning pattern where politicians facing probes found relief after switching sides.

The report indicates that among the politicians who joined the BJP, six made the switch in anticipation of the Lok Sabha Elections in 2024. This influx of political defectors, coupled with the resolution of their legal troubles, raises questions about the impartiality of investigations and the integrity of the political landscape.

The Indian Express had previously shed light on this issue in a 2022 report, revealing that a significant majority of politicians targeted by central investigation agencies post-2014 belonged to opposition parties. This pattern has sparked allegations from the opposition of the ruling BJP misusing investigative agencies for political gains.

In light of recent events, such as the arrest of Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal and former Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren in corruption cases investigated by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), concerns about the independence of investigative agencies have only heightened.

The Indian Express report specifically mentions cases involving Ajit Pawar and Praful Patel, both prominent leaders of the NCP faction, which were closed following their switch to the BJP. This trend is particularly striking in Maharashtra, where several high-profile politicians have made similar transitions.

For instance, Ajit Pawar's case saw a significant turn of events: initially closed by the Mumbai Police’s Economic Offences Wing (EOW) during his tenure in the previous government, it was reopened upon the BJP's return to power in Maharashtra. However, with Pawar's subsequent alignment with the NDA, the case was once again closed, rendering the ED's actions against him futile.

The report also mentions cases involving leaders like Suvendu Adhikari in West Bengal and Hemanta Biswa Sarma in Assam, both of whom found shelter in the BJP amid ongoing investigations.

It is a good strategy to keep thieves under your control so that they cannot steal any more. You need to reform people.

Guru, I think you are wrong to say the thieves who joined BJP cannot steal anymore. In fact they are now licenced to steal more fearlessly under the patronage of our great Vishwaguru. When the guru extorted billions from corporate world, what is wrong if chelas too do the same? To his slogan ना खाऊंगा ना खाने दूंगा, I will add ना डरूंगा, ना डरने दूंगा.

A person who calls himself "Guru", if incapable of understanding BJP corruption, what comment you can expect from such characters. Also not surprising, all are from majority religion just like PM and HM and Guru!

There are many BJP bhakths who brag BJP is the only party which is honest and not corrupt. From Rafael Scam to DeMo Scam or even electroal bonds, they reject everything, at time giving the excuse of judiciary or media not terming it as scam. Many of the guys who switched sides to BJP, including PM Modi to booth level workers called them as corrupt and scamsters. After joining BJP, all cases get cleared like magic. They are individuals, wealthy, rich and powerful, switching sides maybe their safety. But, how can a BJP worker still can claim BJP is non-corrupt, when it is drowned deep in corruption. Congress in comparision looks like a party, cleansed with ganga jal and purified, after 10yrs Modi led BJP, found nothing to date.

BJP had earlier great leaders -- now it is rule by Lowest Common Denominator-- earlier -leaders like Shri Vajpayee -- possibly not Advani -- even though better than present lot -- -- Justice KS HEGDE -- Arun Shourie --- Ms Sushma Swaraj -- Jaswanth Singh -- to name a few ------ NOW AS PER PLATO -- a recap--- Democracy is rule by the rabble, in Plato’s view. It is the rule by the lowest common denominator. In a democracy, passions are inflamed and proliferate. Certain individuals may take advantage of and channel the storm of ignorance, Plato feared, and consolidate power out of a desire to serve their own interests. something similar happening here ---- RABBLE ROUSERS HAVING A FIELD DAY --- --ACCHE DIN -- ACCHE DIN -- only for a few billionaires--

Our great Corruption free Prime Minister who considers himself God has organised all this .His main aim is to destroy the opposition completely and become a dictator. Once the elections are done all these politicians will be treated like dogs and will be asked only to bark when their master asks them to do so. His Devotees are so blinded by their devotion towards him that they do not want to see these things which are clearly visible. The media has successfully hypnotised the majority of our country's population. Our country is at a very low point and every citizens irrespective of their faith and religion are going to suffer equally because of him. We will be seeing that the whole country including our personal properties and assets will be taken over by a handful of people in the name of enforcement directorate and all of us will be left to their mercy to be treated like slaves. They already have plans to impose 24hr work day . Electoral bond scam is already the biggest scam in the world by which even the manufacturers of counterfeit medicines have been given free hand , what can be worse than this ?.
