Rs 1.95 crore worth illegal liquor confiscated in Mangaluru

Mangaluru, Apr 4: From the day the Election Code of Conduct for the Lok Sabha 2024 elections was implemented, Rs 1.95 crore worth of illegal liquor was confiscated in the district of Dakshina Kannada. Additionally, 15.5 kg of narcotics worth Rs 8.69 lakh were seized.

In total, 278 FIRs were registered for violating excise regulations. Over the telephone, 157 complaints were received from the public, and necessary action was taken. Furthermore, 59 complaints were lodged via the C-Whistle app, all of which were also investigated.

In Dakshina Kannada, 92 complaints were received through the NGRS portal (National Grievances Redressal System). Out of these, 90 complaints were resolved. This information was conveyed by the district election officer in a press statement.
