Doha, Apr 2: The much-awaited grand gala traditional 24th Annual May Queen Ball organised by the Goan Welfare Association, Qatar (GWA) in collaboration with Orbit Events and Marketing is all set to roll on May 10 at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Doha from 7 pm onwards.

The highlight of the event will be the crowning of 24th May Queen by the Bollywood celebrities. The annual May Queen Ball is the signature event of GWA that has grown from strength to strength over the years and this year will be celebrating 24th year continuously since its inception. The guests attending are from different parts of the Globe in huge numbers to attend along with local guests. The 24th edition of May Queen event will be an exciting and fun-filled another blockbuster. Bollywood celebrities attending this mega event every year has helped us to build a bridge and strong bond between Bollywood celebrities and the Indian community in Qatar, said Simon D’Silva, president of Goan Welfare Association.

Mark Revlon, the Goan iconic singing sensation will be performing for the first time in Qatar for the May Queen Ball event. Mark Revlon is a self-taught musician, a music producer and has a band named Mark Revlon Band which is one of the most popular bands in Goa. He has performed and enthralled audiences in USA, England, Scotland, Canada, Australia, Italy, Kazakhstan, Bahrain, Oman, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, India and in particular Goa.

To set the floor on fire, Goa's top and India's hottest live band Raagas2Riches will perform for the evening. Raagas2Riches has gained viral reputation in the live music scene with their impressive musicianship, dynamic performances, and captivating stage presence. The band covers music from genres like retro, pop, Latin, reggae, blues, rock, metal, Bollywood and many more. The band was formed in 1996 as ‘Raagas to Riches’ in Mumbai. Their debut performance at the renowned Razzberry Rhinoceros venue was a thrilling success, setting the tone for their meteoric rise to prominence. After relocating to the tranquil coastal state of Goa, the group underwent a highly successful rebranding campaign in 2015, that saw them emerge as ‘Raagas2Riches’. Since then, they have been a dominant presence at major stage shows and exclusive nightclubs across Goa. The band has become popular not only in Goa but all over India and abroad. They have performed at over 1500 events, including destination weddings, launches, corporate events, and stage shows. Raagas2Riches specialises in performing at corporate events. They have an extensive collection of music from various genres to cater to different crowds. They have performed in numerous corporate events across India and overseas. Their repertoire includes music from multiple genres, such as Bollywood, Sufi, Punjabi, South Indian and western music.

The band members include Raul D’Mello on lead vocals is a massive frontline vocalist known all over India performing with bands like Aqua Flow, High Tide and Syndicate and was also a Times Music artiste releasing 5 videos which were on all major music channels and then left for UK to perform for 9 years with the award winning tribute band ‘The Rat Pack is back’. A total interactive and electric performer, Alacoque Morenas, lead vocals and her versatility, style and voice have worked in her favour and created a fan base for herself. Jonathan Dias is the topmost drummer and joined his first professional band at the age of 14. He also happens to be the drummer of Microwave Papadums, the official band of Goa's Pop Rock icon Remo Fernandes band and was recruited by Remo at the age of 17. A double pedal expert with his speed and precision. He is also a former Zildjian endorsee. Amaro Fernandes on the bass is well known for his stage presence and whacky energy besides being on backing vocals he is also a maestro on the violin which he was well trained at the tender age of 8 and holds 8th grade at the Trinity Music School, London. Jason comes from a hard rock/metal background, is a versatile musician with a funny side and has performed with Goan rock/metal bands. Nathaniel being immersed in the world of music for nearly two decades, his musical journey began at the age of six, a highly versatile and spontaneous musician capable of adapting into any new genre with ease.
