Mangaluru: Interstate bike thief apprehended by Bajpe police

Mangaluru, Mar 29: Bajpe police station's ASI Rama Poojary and personnel arrested a notorious interstate bike thief at Swamilapadavu on Thursday March 28.

Prahlad (30), a resident of Golibettumane in Sastan, Kundapur taluk, was intercepted during a routine vehicle check conducted by ASI Rama and the police team. Despite signals to stop, Prahlad attempted to evade the authorities, prompting a pursuit. Upon intercepting him, Prahlad admitted to the theft of the scooter, which was reported stolen from Melkar in Bantwal.

Following his arrest, Prahlad was presented before the court. He has a history of involvement in bike theft cases across various police stations, including Kundapur, Mangaluru North, Kota, Brahmavar, and Udupi. Prior to his arrest, Prahlad had been evading court appearances.
