Kasaragod, Mar 26: A plus two student at Madikai in the district is reported to be serious after being subjected to alleged brutal ragging.

Nived, 17, a student of Ambalathara Government Higher Secondary School sustained severe injuries to his jaw and teeth due to alleged ragging, police sources said.

The police have booked a case against four students of the school who were involved in the alleged assault.

Nived hails from Kanhangad Balla Chemmattamvayal and is undergoing treatment at the Government Medical College Hospital, Pariyaram.

Police said urgent medical attention was required leading to emergency surgery to address Nived's extent of injuries.

When Nived was returning home from school on Saturday, it is learnt that an altercation occurred near a bus stop. Nived was alleged accosted by a group of four students studying in the same school.

Nived had failed to participate in the school's Holi celebrations which was purportedly the motive behind the attack. police said.

Hosadurg police are investigating.

    Jossey S:Watefront.how you will say no here?You see the result.One is free to do what one wants.These students should be also given same treatment as they did to other one.These boys must be having enough and more money to spend and this is the result.Give them only one time meal and all charbi will be down.Arrest them and bring their parents and show them what their filius have done.Hope this boy recovers soon.Government should look into this and suspend these students from school

    How come this is bamed as "ragging" ? Now, whats the ragging ? Ragging is done inside the college campus or college hostel...That too at the end of year and after completing his two years in that college. This shows the enemity between them. Whatever, college should condemn this attack.

    More than the students who resorted to ragging it is the leaders who incited the religious divide are to be held responsible for this violence. Ragging no doubt is also banned and hence the boys responsible should be made to account for their violatiins.
