Mangaluru: St Gerosa School row - HC stays probe into case against five including MLAs

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru

Mangaluru, Mar 24: The High Court of Karnataka has stayed the investigation of the case registered against five people, including two MLAs, in connection with the incident at St Gerosa School. The court also issued a notice to the complainant and issued an order.

A case was registered against MLAs Vedavyas Kamath, Bharat Shetty, VHP leader Sharan Pumpwell, Sandeep Garodi and Bharat Kumar in connection with the protest held at St Gerosa School on February 12.

The police had registered a case against the five as per the complaint filed by Anil Gerald Lobo, a resident near the school, at the Pandeshwar police station.

The accused were granted bail in the High Court in connection with this incident.

The five accused including the MLAs have not created an environment that disturbs the peace in the school. The head of the educational institution has informed in writing about the dismissal of the accused teacher. So the school administration is responsible for the incident that happened there. If such a legal issue had arisen, the police would have registered a case or the school administration would have filed a complaint.

There is a complaint from outside the school. Therefore, senior lawyer Arun Shyam had argued before a single-member bench in the High Court that the case against the five should be quashed.

After hearing the argument, a single-member bench of Justice Krishna S Dixit stayed the investigation in the case on Friday and issued a notice to the complainant.

Kalaburagi zone additional commissioner of education department, Dr Akash has made an inquiry and prepared a report about the allegations against St Gerosa School.

This is the result of bowing down before hooligans and dismissing the accused teacher. The headmistress could have suspended the teacher until investigation by competent authority and should have reinstated if proved not guilty.

Just try find out and you will see, horrifying image of politicians emerging, playing divisive politics for votes, at the expense of students.

Sorry state of affairs. The culprits go scot free after creating ruckus and misbehaving with a religious woman and instigating /poisoning young minds to revolt against their school and teacher at the behest of a corrupt mind. Isn't it just to verify facts and punish the guilty ? Why has the investigation been stopped? Just to protect a couple of worthless indviduals?

What are the grounds on which the proceedings are stayed? Because they are MLAs? AAP Delhi CM is corrupt. Electoral Bonds Scam is correct? If Electoral Bonds corruption, Quid Pro Quo not investigated, why only Liquor Scam is explored at this time? One wrong cannot justify the other, but ruling party cannot take undue advantage.

These guys have won purely on technical grounds; main mistake was sacking the concerned teacher, and secondly not lodging a complaint themselves against the hooligans who barged towards the school premises! A big lesson to all those who blindly believe in "divine justice" and forget about that right now we are earthly creatures!

Its upto the parents to send or not toe send. Education in this school is not free. The parents pay good money. The school wants funds, is not run on charity. At the end of day its money thats required to run the school. Even the school administration knows this , hence they dismissed the teacher to appease the parents! . Like someone wrote below, get your back side off the chair and hit the roads. Its easy to comment online. We have not forgotten the CAA protests.

By your logic, if they don't send their children to schools who will give funds to maintain infrastructure & staff salaries? many schools need to be closed due to non availability of students. All the school administrations know that except some people who comment over here. People simply comment without any logic & future thinking.
