BJP complains with EC against Udupi Cong nominee Hegde for remarks against Kota Srinivas Poojary

Daijiworld Media Network - Udupi

Udupi, Mar 24: The Opposition BJP in Karnataka has filed a formal complaint with Election Commission of India against Congress candidate from Udupi-Chikkamagaluru constituency K Jayaprakash Hegde for his reported appeal to voters not to support his BJP rival Kota Srinivas Poojary on the grounds that he does not know English and Hindi languages.

Hegde had said that knowing only Kannada language will not help Kota Srinivas Poojary to work effectively in Delhi as an MP, the complaint pointed out.

The BJP delegation described this as an assault on the pride of Kannadigas and an insult to the regional language. Stating that such remarks would amount to violation of model code of conduct, the BJP demanded action by the ECI against Jayaprakash Hegde.

Meanwhile, another complaint was filed against chief minister Siddaramaiah of trying to defame the party in the run-up to the Lok Sabha polls by levelling allegations that the BJP was trying to woo Congress MLAs by offering them Rs 50 crore each.

In a complaint before the chief electoral officer in Karnataka on March 24, a delegation of BJP leaders led by form er minister S Suresh Kumar alleged that the chief minister had made such an allegation with a political intention of defaming the BJP at the time of Lok Sabha polls.

Terming the allegations as “false”, the BJP delegation said the CM had failed to furnish evidence to support his allegations.

Describing this as violation of the model code of conduct (MCC), the BJP delegation demanded that Siddaramaiah should apologise to the BJP for such allegations and also withdraw his remarks. It also urged the ECI to initiate appropriate action against him.

After reading Anand Poojari's comments I know why people call them Andh Bhakt. And the quality of his English also demonstrates why one should know good English or Hindi to be an effective parliamentarian.

Narendra Modi does not know English properly. Even today he uses translators when he visits foreign countries. But yet he is a MOST PROMINENT LEADER of the world today. Most of Politicians from Tamil Nadu does not speak English/Hindi, but yet are better MPs. They were able to get better rail/road/infra facilities for their people. Actor Rishab Shetty does not speak English. He speaks Kannada/Hindi in other states. But he makes films in other languages and works with other state's actors. JP Hegde was with BJP until 10 days ago. He was forcibly convinced/coaxed to contest by DK Shivakumar, because the election result is known in Udupi. JP Hedge does not have other points to target the opponent. So he brought in Language issue. Even congress people do not vote form him. Kota Srinivas Poojary is an able leader, hard worker and people friendly. He brought lots of reformation in his ministries Muzarai, Social Welfare and Fisheries. Once he was found working from Adarsh Hospital Udupi after undergoing a surgery. This made national headline (May he due to this Narendra Modi handpicked him). He is a good orator and speaks Kannada very fluently in state assembly. That is why he was made Leader of Opposition twice. As per my knowledge he knows Hindi little bit, but may be not proficiently. He will definitely improve his skills. I have a gut feeling that Kota will join Narendra Modi cabinet with MoS. To contest election, knowing Hindi/English is not mandatory. Even in Parliament Kannada/Tulu or any other Indian Language is allowed. That is the beauty of our nation. So this language issue will backfire JP Hegde. Kota will win with over 4 Lakhs margin.

People in India, conditioned by fake news from Ambani and Adani media, may think Modi is seen a great world leader. People outside India, who know the truth, do not respect Modi. He is viewed as an authoritarian leader who is subverting democracy in India.

First look at the number of disagrees for your intelligent but senseless language analysis. Your saying on Tamilnadu MP's don't speak English is joke of this decade if not century. What's then the historical Madras University...is it some street corner or restaurant side Pan Beedi Shop. Andha bhakti too has to have some limits. It's is become a norm now that educated are to be ruled by uneducated in becoming number one super power of the world...... Enjoy the day with some pakoda and chai....bhajao thaliyan aur ghantiyan....!!!!!!

It’s a fact, the BJP supporters specifically educated youth should understand, by electing the leader who cannot raise the people voice in the parliament or communicate effectively then no use of electing. We had two leaders for 15 yrs, does anyone see they speak in parliament or media, by electing the person in support of party, doesn’t fulfill the needs of the people, so just think before vote the candidate. We vote LS candidate to raise our district or our people voice in the parliament so we get resolve, just example : that pompwel bridge took many yrs because our leaders couldn’t speak about that in parliament or ministers that’s y delayed.

Jp Hegde was in Bjp a few days ago. Congress had no one who was willing to compete, hence borrowed him. 100 percent sure he will go back to Bjp if he miraculously wins.As of now he should target more than 30 percent votes..
