No role of Centre in arrest of CM Kejriwal: Prahlad Joshi

Bengaluru, Mar 22 (IANS): Union Minister for Mine, Coal and Law Prahlad Joshi on Friday said that there is no role of the Central government in the arrest of the Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

Speaking to reporters in Hubballi, Joshi said that Kejriwal showed extreme arrogance and did not care even after being served summons nine times. When he did not respond, legal action has been initiated.

"Kejriwal showed arrogance. The ED had given him sufficient time. When he did not care for summons, he was arrested."

Despite being indulged in corruption, Kejriwal did not give the required information and went to the High Court. The court said that it was not possible to protect him. Even on Thursday, he did not cooperate with the investigation following which he was arrested, Joshi stated.

It’s an issue with people who has voted for you which you don’t understand your job role and responsibilities. Kejriwal is a smart man and upright daring leader who gives damn to anyone. He will show his real power when he win in majority and retire you soon. Then keep your chamcha life style yourself

This was expected after Lok Sabha elections. This guy put everyone around him under the bus while he was neck deep in the scam. Looks like he was working beyond his work scope and action was urgently taken.

No use of shedding crocodile tears for a "clean" and "non-corrupt" kejriwal. By refusing to respond to ED notices for 9 times at a stretch , kejriwal was baying to get arrested for the "extra" sympathy votes.

Arresting an elected CM is not a good democratic precedent, I feel the BJP is using ED to silence opposition leaders which may backfire and the BJP may lose support, Just remember what happened to Indira Gandhi after the emergency elections? People may think differently BJP may lose popularity In a democracy we must respect opposition leaders always Opposition has a good role to play in a democratic setup. Just silencing opposition may not be good and it may backfire
