Bahrain: Ifthar gathering held at Kannada Sangha

Bahrain, Mar 20: An Iftar gathering was held by Kannada Sangha here for the members and the invitees at Kannada Bhavan auditorium, Manama on last Friday evening. Hundreds of members and invited guests took part. Kannada Sangha president Amarnath Rai and managing committee office bearers welcomed them.

Dignitaries and office bearers of various organizations of the Indian community took part in the Iftar gathering and showed that they are equal.

Chief secretary Ramprasad Ammenadka conveyed his wishes for Ramadan. Amarnath Rai thanked the gathering for having arrived in response to their invitation.

The second secretary of Indian embassy Girish Chandra Poojary, capital governorate director Yousuf Lohari were present. Intellectuals Janab Mohammed Mujahid and Janab Shahid Choudhari spoke about the importance of fasting during Ramadan. Bahrain Cricket Federation Advisory Committee president Mohammed Mansoor, Central Café hotel group’s managing director Prakash Shetty, Kannada Sangha vice president Mahesh Kumar and others were present. The guests were honored with mementos.

As the fast was coming to an end after the prayers, the Iftar gathering was set in motion with the consumption of fruits and water. Special meals were arranged later. The members took part in the Iftar as one with the slogan of the Sangha that all the religions are equal.
