Mangaluru: International Women's Day celebrated at Lady Goschen Hospital - 95 women staff felicitate

Mangaluru, Mar 15: Government Lady Goschen Hospital observed International Women's Day on Friday, March 15th, and honored 95 women staff members for their tireless service.

Medical Superintendent of Lady Goschen Hospital, Dr Durgaprasad M R, along with other dignitaries, inaugurated the Women's Day programme.

Addressing the gathering, Dr Durgaprasad MR emphasized the importance of women in society. He stressed that women need to be respected, as they are the pillars of society. If these pillars are weakened, the entire family suffers. He highlighted the significance of recognizing the work of women staff members and noted that such programmes are essential for relieving the stress they undergo while caring for patients.

Pramila Eshwar, member of Arogya Rakshana Samithi, expressed gratitude for having a supportive superintendent who acknowledges the efforts of every staff member, fostering confidence among them. She acknowledged the support of men in women's endeavors, emphasizing the importance of having a supportive husband.

As a resource person, Priya K C, Administrator of Sakhi One Stop Centre, addressed the topic of "Stress Management."

Dr Durgaprasad was felicitated by the staff members during the event.

The event also saw the participation of RMO of Lady Goschen Hospital, Dr Jagadish, Pediatrician Dr Balakrishna Rao, senior doctor Dr Sundari, KMC supervisor Mallika, assistant administrative officer Rohitakshi, Thresiyamma, counselor Divyalatha, and Sumangala, who served as comperes. Nursing officer Hemalatha welcomed the gathering, while Counselor Kalpana Shetty proposed a vote of thanks.
