Beltangady: Gas tanker overturns at Shiradi Ghat, traffic affected

Beltangady, Mar 14: A gas tanker overturned on Shiradi Ghat on the morning of Wednesday.

Fire service personnel and police rushed to the spot to prevent gas leakage which may cause disaster.

The driver of the gas tanker lost control as he reached double turn bend on Shiradi Ghat. Police stopped the traffic.

The traffic is being diverted through alternative routes. The deputy commissioner ordered closure of ghat for traffic till midnight of Wednesday.

Vehicles moving from Salkleshpur to Mangaluru should move through Sakleshpur-Hanabaalu-Moodigere route. Vehicles moving from Bengaluru to Manglauru should take Hassan-Boovanahalli Cross-Belur route. Vehicles going from Mangaluru to Bengaluru should move through Sullia-Sampaje route as per the orders of Hassan deputy commissioner Satyabhama.
