Mumbai, Sep 29: A young housewife by the name Nidhi committed suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling fan at her residence in Andheri, here, while her husband was not around.

The 24-year-old lady left a death note and a video recording explaining her actions. She said that she was ending her life as she did not want to bother her parents and in-laws.

As per reports, the woman was risiding with her husband Samdarshi Singh, who is a private bank employee. The couple got married recently in February 2011.

Speaking about marital relations, senior police inspector of the MIDC police station said that the couple used to argue with each other quiet often. Even on Tuesday September 27, they had an argument regarding household issues.

The officer said that the incident came to light when Nidhi's father's call was going unanswered. It is learnt that Nidhi used to call her father after every fight she had with her husband. The police said that Nidhi's father would usually ask a relative to check on her. The relative, on doing so, did not get any response. Even when Sandarshi came home, he found the door locked.

On breaking open the door with the help of fire brigade, her husband found Nidhi's body hanging from the ceiling fan. He also found the video recording of 1.30 minutes in her camera.

Samarshi believes that Nidhi's extreme step is driven out of depression.

A case of accidental death has been registered.
