Mangaluru: Women's Day celebration held at Holy Family Church, Omzoor

Mangaluru, Mar 11: On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Stree Sanghatan of Omzoor Parish, organized women’s day celebration on March 9. The celebration began with Solemn Eucharistic celebration which was celebrated by Fr Alwyn D’Cunha, parish priest and con-celebrated by Fr Rayan Pinto, OCD. Stree Sanghatan, led the liturgy.

A get together was organized in Sabha Bhavan. The programme began with a prayer song. Vinaya Braggs, president of Stree Sanghatan, Omzoor unit welcomed the gathering.

Fr Alwyn D’Cunha in his presidential speech stressed on the importance of family life, mental and physical health of women.

Thereafter, various cultural and fun activities were also organized. The enthusiastic women with their infectious energy lit up the crowd with their beautiful dance performance, endearing dramas, soothing group songs. Dafny Lewis, conducted various spot games.

Fr Alwyn D’Cunha, parish priest, Fr Rayan Pinto, OCD, Arthur D'Souza, vice-president of PPC; Dafny Lewis, secretary of PPC, Elroy Saldanha, co-ordinator of all church commissions; Vinaya Braggs, president of Stree Sanghatan, Milli D'Souza, secretary of Stree Sanghatan were present on the dais.

Leena Braggs, compered the programme. Milli D'Souza, proposed the vote of thanks. About 150 women of the parish actively participated in the programme.
