Bengalureans thirsting for water while Cong govt releases Cauvery water to TN, attacks Ashoka

Bengaluru, Mar 10: Leader of Opposition R Ashoka stoutly assailed the Siddaramaiah government for shamelessly releasing Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu to please the DMK government while people of Bengaluru are facing drinking water problems.

Speaking to media persons in Bengaluru on Sunday, Ashoka alleged that the Congress government was releasing water to Tamil Nadu as part of the electoral understanding for the INDIA opposition block.

"Farmers in Karnataka and people in and around Bengaluru need water but the government releases Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu," he said and termed the government as "shameless".

The Congress leaders vowed to implement Mekedatu project and is now blaming the Centre. Farmers are suffering due to drought and government does not release funds, he said and demanded that the government should quit.

The senior BJP leader claimed that there were no differences within the BJP or JD(S) among the workers as well as leaders of both parties will work unitedly for the success of BJP-JD(S) candidates and win maximum number of seats in Karnataka.
