Dammam, Mar 8: The most awaited MASA Premier League, MPL Season -3, Cricket for noble cause, concluded at Al Falah Ground, Jubail on Friday, March 1 in grand style.

MPL Season 3 powered by INTERMODAL Group Co. Ltd, UIC (Universal Inspection Company Ltd.) and SOGEC (Specialized Oil & Gas Engineering Co. Ltd.) was conducted by Mangalore Association Saudi Arabia (MASA) on Thursday Feb 29 and on Friday, March 1.

Tournament was also sponsored by Shamlal Rental Manpower and Equipment Co., FEOL, Artland Transport Co., Syndicate Consultants, Dialogue Industrial Services, Najeeb Al Hajri Transport and Logistics, CLC Pest &Termite Control.

Well balanced six Teams of well-known players in the Eastern Province from Jubail, Al Khobar, Dammam and Riyadh participated in this prestigious tournament. The event kick started on Thursday, February 29 evening at AL FALAH GROUND, JUBAIL with flood light facility around 8:30 pm in the presence of MASA founding member Ravi Karkera, president Gopal Shetty, advisors Ravi Karkera, Narendra Shetty, Naveen Bhandary, vice president Pravin Peter Aranha, other EXCOM members, MPL core committee members franchisee owners, other dignitaries, and team players.

Prior to the Toss Gopal Shetty & Ravi Karkera addressed the gathering and wished all the teams best of luck and thanked Sponsors, donors, and participating players for being part of the tournament played noble cause. Inauguration of the tournament took place by facing of three balls by the President, Gopal Shetty bowled by Vice President Praveen Peter Aranha.

The teams were selected through a bidding process professionally conducted earlier.

After witnessing thrilling and exciting matches throughout the day, it was SASP Scorpions and RAQWANI Challengers entered the final by defeating Team MAC ZIGMA Warriors and Sasihithlu Beach Boys respectively in an enthralling finish.

SASP Scorpions emerged as Champions, while RAQWANI Challengers had to settle with Runners Up Trophy in a tough final battle.

Cricket LOVERS witnessed the event along with their families and friends under an unexpected, chilled weather condition. Spectators enjoyed the thrilling matches by witnessing mighty sixes and fall of wickets.

Five sixes of Fawaz Ullal of SASP Scorpions in total of 5 matches who scored aggregate of 109 runs, took 3 wickets, 4 catches and involved in 3 run outs fittingly awarded Man of the series for his all-round performance.

Best Bowler, Best Batsman and Maximum sixes, were rewarded with Trophies and Gift Vouchers. Player of the Series was awarded with Trophy and Airfare from Dammam to Mangalore. Champion Team was awarded with CASH prize of SR 3333, Trophy, and medals. Runners up team was awarded with CASH prize of SR 1666, Trophy and medals.

It was indeed a successful tournament that concluded well with a grand note, as six teams battled for the coveted trophy with exhibition of great talent and sportsmen ship.
