Kundapur: Gold jewellery stolen in June '23 recovered in Rajasthan; accused held in Mumbai

Kundapura, Mar 3: The Kundapura police have recovered gold jewellery worth about Rs 10 lac from the accused in Mumbai who had stolen gold jewellery worth around Rs 22.5 lac from a gold marketing executive at a private hotel in Kundapura on June 10, 2023.

The arrested accused have been identified as Ran Royal alias Balu Ram (21) of Khor village in Pali district of Rajasthan and Praveen Kumar (25) of Barlabera village in Sewari village.



A marketing executive of Haji Gold and Diamond, a jewellery company owned by Mohammad Shahabuddin was on a business visit on June 10, 2023 and had stayed at a private lodge in Kundapura with a friend named Ram. He had also kept a bag containing gold jewellery between the couch.

When he woke up in the morning, Ram had gone missing along with the gold bag.

A case was registered in Kundapura police station.

The Kundapura police, who were chasing the accused, arrested them and seized gold jewellery worth Rs 10 lacs.
