Mangaluru: Kondana temple's Bhandara house demolished by locals; 3 arrested

Mangaluru, Mar 3: In an unusual incident at Kondana Temple, situated within Ullal limits and administered by the Endowment Department, a newly constructed Bhandara house faced demolition this morning at around 8 am. The act was carried out by an unknown group using a JCB.

The chief officer, Anand, filed a complaint, leading to the registration of an FIR (CR No: 43/24 u/s 143,147,148,295,427 r/w 149 IPC and 2A KPDLPA Act). Following an investigation, Muttana Shetty, Dheeraj, and Shivraj have been arrested. The individuals admitted to their involvement in the demolition.

The motive behind their action stems from a dispute involving the temple's 16 Gurikararus. Allegedly, there was a lack of consensus among them regarding the construction of the new Bhandara house, deemed illegal and unauthorized. Despite having previously raised the issue with the AC and Tahsildar, no action was taken, prompting the individuals to take matters into their own hands and demolish the structure.

Such a nonsense work and not at all needed.Instead of destroying that with JCB ,they should have hit their hear against that temples walls to come down from their temper.First one should clear the papers thoroughly and start work. But who will pay for the loss?
