9,651 got jobs directly in Bengaluru Udyog Mela: Minister Dr Sharan Prakash Patil

Bengaluru, Feb 28: The two-day mega Udyog Mela was a tremendous success with as many as 9,651 candidates getting directly recruited, said Skill Development and Livelihood Minister Dr Sharan Prakash Patil in Bengaluru on Wednesday.

Addressing a news conference in Vidhana Soudha, the minister said the mega job fair held at Bengaluru Palace Grounds received overwhelming response with over 86,451 job aspirants including 53,913 male candidates and 32,494 female had registered online.

As many as 44,527 candidates attended the job fair out of which 9,651 got jobs on the spot as per their educational qualifications. The applications of 16,865 candidates are under scrutiny while 2,457 applications have been rejected for technical reasons., he said.

He said 15,461 job aspirants attended the interview and their details are being examined and they would also get jobs. The two-day job fair was a great success that beat our expectations.

Providing details on the sector-wise recruitment, the minister said that 26 were recruited in aviation sector, automotive – 74, electronics – 29, health – 27, telecom – 19, services sector – 36, agriculture – 6, garment – 6, beauty – 3, telecom -19 and textile – 1.

Job fairs in three zones

Encouraged by the successful conduct of the Yuva Samruddhi Sammelana, Dr Patil said the job fair would be held in three zones across the state in the coming days.

“The preparations are underway to conduct job fairs in Kalaburagi, Belagavi and Mysuru. We will also set up skill education centres for job aspirants at Koppal in Kalyana Karnataka region and Mysuru. Our department is taking steps to provide jobs to over 25,000 youths who have completed job-oriented courses,” added Dr Patil.

Overseas employment promotion co

Inspired by the Kerala government’s initiative to promote employment, the minister stated that Karnataka would start a company on the lines of Overseas Development and Employment Promotion Consultants Ltd. (ODEPC) a Government of Kerala undertaking.

“The State government will start an overseas employment promotion company aking to the Kerala model to facilitate multi-national companies to find required human resources. This firm would provide information to those who have completed engineering, diploma, ITI and other job-oriented courses and 49 companies have already shown interest. IBM has come forward to provide training to over 5,000 job aspirants. The proposed overseas company would act as a communication channel and provide information on the available human resources in the state and this would also make job searching a hassle-free exercise," Dr. Patil opined.

Companies that participated and provided employment during the job mela included Infosys Ltd, Tata Consultancy services, Foxconn Hon Hai Technology India Mega Development, HCLTech, Mahindra Aerospace Pvt Ltd, Wistron infocomm Manufacturing (I) Pvt Ltd, Swiggy Instamart, JAAS Technologies, Quess Corp Limited, Collins Aerospace, Paytm, Mahindra Finance, Cargill India, Applied Materials and Concentrix among others.

    Karnataka model or Kejerewal model is good for India. Gujarat feku model is bad for India. BJP central government made 80 crore Indians into poor and now distributing free ration. They are reducing the jobs. Gujarati mafias looted whole India.
