Mangaluru/Udupi, Feb 28: Bharatiya Janata Party members, aiming to stage a protest over the incident where Rajya Sabha MP Naseer Hussain's supporters reportedly shouting ‘Pakistan zindabad’ in the corridors of Vidhana Soudha, attempted to lay seige to the Congress office in Mallikatte on Wednesday February 28.

The BJP members, expressing their outrage, converged outside the Congress office. The standoff led to heightened security measures. Police were deployed in front of the district Congress office to prevent any untoward incidents.

Police forces remain on high alert, patrolling the area and closely monitoring the situation to prevent any potential escalation or harmful incidents.

Heavy police protection has been implicated in Brahmagiri circle in Udupi as both Congress and BJP have resorted to protests against each other over the alleged ‘Pakistan zindabad’ slogans heard at Bengaluru during victory celebrations of the Congress candidate.

Udupi BJP under the leadership of its district president Kishore Kumar Kundapur and Udupi MLA Yashpal Suvarna have planned to lay siege to the Congress office situated at Brahmagiri.

Meanwhile, the Congress also has called for its members to gather in large number to protest against the move.

A large number of police personnel are also beefed-up in the area.

Later, chaos ensued between the BJP workers and police as the BJP workers tried to lay siege on the Congress office in Brahmagiri.

Udupi police foiled the siege operation by placing barricades and even took the custody of a few BJP leaders including MLA Yashpal Suvarna.

A big number of Congress leaders and workers had also gathered near the Congress office.

It may be recalled, Karnataka BJP filed a police complaint against Rajya Sabha MP Naseer Hussain late on Tuesday night, demanding legal action against the Congress leader after his supporters allegedly raised ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ slogans in the Assembly premises while celebrating his victory in the RS polls. However, Hussain's supporters denied the allegation and claimed they had shouted 'Nasir Saab zindabad' and there was no mention of ‘Pakistan’, unlike what was alleged by the police and BJP functionaries.

"BJP leader KS Eshwarappa on Sunday said “bhagwa” or saffron flag may become the national flag of the country in the future, courting a fresh controversy. “The saffron flag may become the national flag in this country today or someday. There is no doubt in it.May 30, 2022" We all know how such a crude, illogical statement by a ruling party politician politician has been hushed up without any legal implications or due action against an anti-Nationalist like Eshwarappa. Where all BJP bhaktas were hibernating at that time of the anti-country slogan ???

This is their tactics whenever they defeat, they themselves shouted/raised such type of slogans and alleges that the winning party workers shouted while celebrating victory, but audio and video cannot recognize who shouted from the crowd. we saw similar incidents before too.

From the commotion filled audio from the clips riding the social media channels it is very difficult to say the difference.... But it looks like the shout was in the name of the newly elected MP.... because pak issue was out of context there... But as usual this also is giving fuel to bajapa fire... But will fade off with time like all previous non issues....

An old tactic never work over and again. Even a layman would able to guess which party will gain advantage over such controversies. Things like this gonna increase as the election approach near... Even in the past BJP IT cell were found to be involved spreading doctored videos on social media in order to encash political mileage..
