KFD case: Udupi heaves sigh of relief as two samples test negative

Udupi, Feb 27: Dr I P Gadad, the district health officer of Udupi, announced that two out of the three samples sent for suspected Kyasanur Forest Disease (KFD) testing have returned negative results. This contrasts with the previous confirmation of a positive case from the same batch of samples, detected through testing at the Shivamogga laboratory.

A total of three samples were sent for the suspected KFD test at Shivamogga laboratory in which one was tested positive and the other two negative.

The 58-year-old woman of Vandse who was being treated for the KFD in a private hospital has been now discharged.
