Kundapur: Unique ‘Mathrvandana’ event at govt school honours mothers' contributions

Kundapur, Feb 26: A heart-warming Mathrvandana program took place at the Tallur Government Model Higher Primary School, where students expressed their gratitude and love for their mothers in a special ceremony. As part of the event, all students tenderly washed their mothers' feet, applied turmeric and Kumkum as a symbol of respect, and performed a pooja by encircling a lamp around their feet.

The chief speaker of the occasion, Damodar Sharma, emphasized the immense responsibilities mothers shoulder in nurturing their children. He highlighted the pivotal role both fathers and mothers play in shaping their children's development, urging parents to serve as positive role models and avoid comparing their children with others.

The programme was meticulously organized by the School Development and Management Committee (SDMC) along with dedicated teachers. Notable figures present at the event included Girish Naik, the president of the gram panchayat, Chandramathi Hegde, the vice president, Udayakumar Tallur, president of the Social Justice Committee, Parvati, the head teacher of the school, T.B. Shetty, a lawyer and president of the school's old students' association, as well as members and office bearers of the Tallur panchayat and SDMC.
