Udupi: SRM Chennai triumphs at 2024 all India inter zone, university chess championship held by MAHE

Udupi, Feb 19: The All India Inter Zone Inter University Chess Championship 2024, hosted by the esteemed Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), concluded today with SRM Chennai emerging victorious, demonstrating exceptional strategic prowess and sportsmanship. Closely following in second place was Anna University Chennai, with Admas University securing the third position in this highly competitive championship.

Running from the 16th to the February 18, the championship witnessed the participation of over 100 students from universities across India, including six International Masters and four Grandmasters. This intense competition not only showcased the intellectual depth and strategic complexity of chess but also highlighted the competitive spirit and talent of the participants.

The championship served as a platform for young minds from various universities to engage in intellectual competition, enhancing their academic and life skills through the game of chess. The achievements of participants from SRM Chennai, Anna University Chennai, and Admas University highlight the high level of chess education and competitive spirit fostered within these institutions.

As the event drew to a close, the organising committee, in collaboration with the Association of Indian Universities, expressed their gratitude to all participants, supporters, and chess enthusiasts who contributed to the success of the championship.
