Mangaluru: 3-day FDP on leadership skills for teachers inaugurated at SADU

Mangaluru, Feb 19: In a significant development, St Aloysius College (Deemed to be University) inaugurated a three-day Faculty Development Program (FDP) on leadership skills for Teachers on February 19. The inauguration held at the university premises, was attended by Dr Alwyn D'Sa, the university registrar, along with the distinguished guests including Dr Charles V Furtado, director - admin block, Dr Melisa Maryann Goveas, HOD department of English,  Bodhisattwa Kundu, trainer of FDP, Vignesh Shetty, ICT, Mangaluru regional representative and Royal Praveen D'Souza, ICT, programme coordinator.

The FDP conducted in collaboration with ICT Academy, is designed to empower educators with essential leadership skills, with a specific focus on their professional development. The program aims to enhance the overall quality of education in Karnataka by equipping teachers with the necessary skills and insights to navigate the evolving educational landscape effectively.

The event commenced with a unique and environmentally conscious 'Green Welcome,' symbolizing growth, sustainability, and the commitment to a greener future. Dr Alwyn D'sa, in his presidential remarks, expressed gratitude to ICT Academy for their collaboration and emphasized the significance of the FDP in fostering leadership skills among educators. He also said, "This collaboration with ICT Academy marks a milestone for our university, emphasizing our commitment to the professional growth of educators in Karnataka."

The trainer for the FDP is Bodhisattwa Kundu, a distinguished Certified Master Life Coach, Leadership Coach and Communication Specialist. His expertise in these domains ensures that participants gain practical insights and skills that are directly applicable to their roles as educators.

Scheduled from February 19 to 21, the programme runs from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM at St Aloysius (Deemed to be University), Mangaluru, Karnataka. This intensive three-day initiative is expected to contribute significantly to the professional growth of teachers in the region.

The collaboration between St Aloysius (Deemed to be University) and ICT Academy is expected to play a pivotal role in enhancing the teaching and leadership capabilities of educators, ultimately contributing to the improvement of the education sector in Karnataka. A total of 52 participants, comprising faculty members, benefitted from the faculty development programme (FDP) on leadership skills for teachers. This widespread participation highlights the program's reach and impact, bringing together professionals from different educational institutions to collectively enhance their leadership skills.
