Mangaluru, Feb 19: Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal staged a protest here at Clock Tower on Monday February 19, condemning the alleged incident which took place at St Gerosa School last week.

It may be recalled, Sr Prabha was alleged to have made some derogatory statements against the Hindu religion and the prime minister while teaching the poem ‘Work is Worship’ authored by Rabindranath Tagore to the students.

VHP and Bajrang Dal members demanded the withdrawal of case filed against MLAs Dr Bharath Y Shetty and Vedavyas Kamath and VHP regional joint secretary Sharan Pumpwell and corporators Bharat and Sandeep Garodi.

Addressing the protestors, Shivananda Mendon, VHP Dakshina Kannada district secretary said, "The incident that occurred in the school is known to everyone now. We are here to petition police commissioner Anupam Agarwal to file a case against Sr Prabha on charges of religious conversion. The VHP has been gathering information regarding remarks made by teachers at St Gerosa School for over a decade. However, now, thanks to our Prime Minister Modi, even the children have come to understand the importance of Lord Ram in our culture. Sr Prabha has not only made derogatory remarks about Lord Ram but has also spoken ill of Koragajja and Lord Ganesh. We will not tolerate injustice. She should be charged with attempting to convert children of our religion. We condemn the Congress government and challenge the police to arrest us. Our MLA Vedvyas Kamath, Dr Bharath Shetty Y, VHP leader Sharan Pumpwell, and other workers have raised the slogan of 'Jai Sri Ram'. If this is the reason for the case lodged against them, then arrest us as well. Following this event, we will peacefully march to the police commissioner's office to submit our letter to him. We urge the police to cooperate with us and allow us to meet the commissioner."

“No prior permission had been obtained from the police department for the protest. Therefore, they are permitted to protest only near the clock tower. However, if they attempt to leave this location, we will take action,” the police stated.

The police, who had assembled in large numbers and detained the protesting members.

Investigate both Sr Prabha and that woman who provocated the parents, public, mla's by her audio message and call to others and who is the reason for chaos till date. Why and where she is hiding? If she is right let her come forward publicly and make her available for the investigation along with Sr. Prabha. Why doing partiality investigation sr prabha only? Work is worship lesson taught throughout karnataka why other schools r not targeted? MLA Bharat shetty was there alongwith another mla. He is lying. Investigate him also. Finally students. They say when thry were small they were not understanding. Now they are matured and understand well. They were shouting like this during the protest. Then please dismiss all those students since they said they're matured and know what they speak. Matured students speak means they're not interested in studies so created problem at the end of academic year. Give them TC

Will a Hindu support a school, if thier teacher has insulted Srirama? Will a catholic support a school, if thier teacher insults Jesus?

While most people are peace loving a very small section of people are disturbing the peace and communal harmony of the city. In India each and every time when people disagree with each other their followers (jobless goons) take to the streets and create a ruckus. This MUST STOP. If anyone has to be arrested it should be the person(s) that made the fake video, the MLS's the went to the school, and the unruly mobsters that tried to break thorough police barricades.

In India 38% of all persons elected to office have been convicted in our courts under serious crimes, don't believe me just check the stats and you will be shocked. I am not talking of petty crimes, or those accused of crime, or those whose criminal cases are still in court. Should these people be found guilty, the percentage of those convicted under our Indian Penal Code will rise to over 50% . That's why please do not have faith in these "Law Makers", because these are the biggest Law Breakers of the land.

Do these uneducated imbeciles know what is law and order, since they are the goons of the party which shamelessly break it. While the DDPI has been tasked to look at the allegations, their call to log an FIR against the teacher does not hold good, since it was they who created the law and order problems. These insecure goons are claiming conversion . If there was any element if truth in what they say, Hindus would be a minority and not Christians who constitute less than 2% and those numbers are on the decline. So stop all the hogwash alleging conversion and get cleansed with gow mutra . They think they can take law into their own hands, thinking it is Yogis bulldozer raj. The people of Karnataka have taught them a lesson and they have not yet recovered from the shock. So try and do some good and not create nuisance value.

Why these protestors did not seek official permission to stage thier protest. They were sure that they don’t have legitimate reason to seek protest so they took the illegal way to protest just to make big noise and media show. So, without official permission they can not even present memorandum to the authorities, so all this drama is fake to fool people.

I definitely feel sorry, but dont drag everyone , boss. Fight it out yourselves. Do not expect others to swim for you. CAA protests in Kudla and the aftermath has taught us all a very good lesson. I hope you can understand!

We too don’t expect any support on communal lines. Unlike CAA this is not a war of communities. It’s a fight between right and wrong. Many from both MLAs' communities had condemned their unwarranted highhandedness which I highly appreciate.

These are the real Crominals of the society. Who are creating a falsified story and dismantling peace and harmony of Mangalore and Udupi, obviously two MLAs are involved in this story behind. Why they are afraid of case? Which they feel is right? Justice should be provided to the respectful Sister Teacher . These criminals should be at least behind the bar. They should be shented out from district and sent to Andaman and Nicholas.

Now the religious conversion allegation is coming out......!! This clearly shows that it is preplanned propaganda......!!!! They are so illiterate that they do not know the law...... They will fall into their own trap..... If the lady who spread the audio is arrested and children are interrogated properly under whose behest they were giving statements........ everything will come out. Speaker has to disqualify these two goonda MLA's immediately.......!

Attempting to push the society back to stone age is no newer agenda of BD n VHP.... Arrest teacher on what grounds and what proof?.... Has anybody witnessed her statements or they are merely believing minority of students who may be tutored to say things to the convenience of bhakths?... Instead of trying to encourage inter community harmony these want one way vehement vindication of unfounded claims.... The way they are motivating the young minds will have far reaching consequences of deep hatred among different faiths....
