Mangaluru, Feb 19: In anticipation of the upcoming 12th DYFI state-level convention scheduled to take place in Thokkottu, preparations have been underway, marked by the hoisting of flexes and hoardings across the region. However, controversy has erupted as authorities, notably the Konaje police, have demanded the removal of certain displays.

Notably, a large cut-out near the DYFI office in Harekala, featuring Tipu Sultan, has drawn attention. Despite lacking permission from the Konaje police, the hoarding was erected, prompting authorities to intervene and request its removal. The station officer of Konaje police served notice on Sunday, yet due to the absence of the Harekala panchayat PDO, the cut-out remained untouched.

Expressing discontent, Imtiyaz, the district president of DYFI, criticized the actions of the Konaje police, accusing them of attempting to enforce the removal of the cut-out themselves. Imtiyaz voiced his defiance in a blog post, asserting that DYFI activists would safeguard all hoardings, including those featuring historical figures like Rani Abbakka.

Our forefathers have all told us true stories of how brutally our Men, Women and Children are massacred by this bigot. Instead of condemning his actions, he is now being portrayed as a "FREE DUMB FIGHTER". Each and every time they get a chance to glorify his evil name and provocate the rest of us, they do it with impunity.

Seems like they just want to provoke and when they get a reaction they will have an opportunity to play the victim.

..if any one fought against British is called freedom fighter then Tipu is a freedom fighter.. truth is, every king fought to safeguard his kingdom from British or other..there is no concept of freedom struggle by Individual kings for India as a whole..these kings always fought one another or aligned with british to defeat one another..

Tipu Sultan is our nations pride who was betrayed by Marathas and Nawabs by joining their hands with British. Then British wiped out both the betrayers .

DYFI usage of Bhagat Singh's photo is also funny. DYFI is nothing but an Islamic regime supporter in disguise of a secular group. You can see their members to know their real intent. They always hide their real intention behind the secular mask. For that they started using Indian national flag, Bhagat singh pictures in flag. Also, for them Tipu sultan is a hero, no matter he killed Christians, Hindus etc. Since he is a Muslim, he is whitewashed of his sins. You can say the same about Aurangzeb. They glorify him, just because he killed Hindus and others. If DYFI is people with good intentions, they would have glorified APJ Adbul Kalam.

DYFI has unnecessarily indulged in inciting public sentiments... Core motto of DYFI is never showing off historical figures... If they want they have greater human leaders of recent times life Ambedkar, President Kalam or Netaji Bose.... They must relate to someone who is closer to young students of our times... Everything has its own stage or Dias of exhibit... This vehemence is quite uncalled for and needs self introspection...

Imtiyaz sir let our pride not overtake peace in DK. You may be right at some stage, but this is not the right time, do not give chance for unnecessary controversy.
