Media Release

Doha, Feb 18: The sun shone brightly on Friday, February 9 and the grounds of the Religious Complex were alive with the sounds of music, laughter and children’s squeals of joy as the parish’s first “Family Day” event unfolded. There was something for people of all ages to enjoy.

The various communities and groups in the parish were on site early, setting up their food stalls that offered hot and cold food and beverages, along with some sweet treats. Families from all walks of life gathered at the church to participate in a variety of activities and programs that highlighted the importance of family unity and spiritual growth.

The festivities began with the opening ceremonies , followed by the talent show. There was so much to see, hear and do: Shouts of “BINGO!” rang out in the morning and the evening, parishioners of all ages ran around the grounds in search of the perfect “selfie” needed to win the treasure hunt; performers from many cultures shared the beauty of their native music and dance; and costumes from many nations adorned the community cultural parade. The richness of the diversity within the parish community was evident, but there was so much joy in the knowledge that we are all one in Christ.

"The family day was my brain child, but it's thanks to all who implemented it and made it possible" quoted by Fr Xavier D'Souza, parish priest of Our Lady of the Rosary Church.

The day ended with a beautiful closing ceremonies. The parishioners and genral audience left the grounds with smiles on their faces and a sense of community in their hearts. This was a day of celebration that left lasting memories for all who participated.

Our Lady of the Rosary Church extends its thanks to all who attended the family day event.
