St Gerosa issue: Ivan D'Souza, J R Lobo demand action against MLAs Vedavyas Kamath, Bharath Shetty

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru

Mangaluru, Feb 14: Former MLC Ivan D'Souza announced on Wednesday that a complaint would be filed against MLA Vedavyas Kamath and MLA Dr. Bharath Y Shetty for their alleged inappropriate behavior in connection with an incident at St. Gerosa School, Valencia.

Addressing the media, D'Souza expressed his concerns stating, "Instead of resolving the issue, MLA Dr Bharath Y Shetty and Vedavyas Kamath behaved inappropriately over the school incident. Rather than filing a complaint, taking action against the teacher, and probing the incident, the MLAs gathered students outside the school premises, insulted the teacher, and made provocative statements. This is condemnable, and a criminal case should be filed against the MLAs."

Former MLA J R Lobo, also present at the media briefing, emphasized the need for swift action against the accused MLAs: "MLAs have behaved in an inappropriate manner when they should have worked within the limitations of the law. They don't deserve to continue as MLAs."

P V Mohan, another political figure, pointing out that even BJP had MLAs like Yogesh Bhat and Dhananjaya Kumar who never behaved inappropriately, echoed the demand for accountability.

Congress leaders Ibrahim Kodijal, Sadashiv Ullal, AC Vinayaraj, Naveen D'Souza, and others were present to address the media.

The call for action against MLAs Kamath and Shetty came from various political figures who criticized their alleged misconduct in handling the school incident.

As written in the Holy Scripture, Only solution for these frequent inter religious flare ups to agree and consider as all are gods or the children of the Most High. Without which also everyone think and act like gods anyway. Also most treat their small children and elders as gods. Who do not want or called to be gods ?

We must allow able headmistress of the school to handle the situation . Shes able and will be fair and will judge properly whos right and whos wrong, she will not take sides for sure. Mlas of both parties are trying to score brownie points instead of calming the situation and must be kept out of the matter and they have no business to interfere in school issues. some local christan leaders(unathorised ones) must be asked to refrain from giving statements as school and diocese are handling the matter and they are the final authority in this issue . I request school to be fair in their actions keeping in view of christian values and not to take sides . Christianity is fair and law is same for every one.

Basically, the government is trying to do fearness among 80% population against 20%..so that 60% out of 80% will vote for them. . Since 2019 and now 2024 This their objective people aren’t able to see their daily problems. They are carried away by their religious sentiments.

Any issue other than serious life threating harm for life is called Petty Issue (Just Talking. ,etc) need one person to address/complaint with school authority, instead they got together as a group in Threatening, Assault, Poisoning the young kids in dirty politics & spoiling their future is too bad & need to take action before they that twice next time.. If Teacher is wrong with loose talks in within classroom. need to complain with school authority Individually NOT as group.

MLAs Vedavyas Karmath and Bharath Shetty at Gerosa school only to gain mileage. By the way, what are their development works in their respective constituencies? Only waiting for such a situation to make a name, but this incident has shown their true colors. The MLAs should have helped in settling the matter amicably between the parents and school management.

Their main work is to brainwash the students to communal mentality and using the innocent students for protests etc. Etc. For majority vote bank politics but parents should think of it and concern themselves only with children's future and not use them as puppets.

Polarization can lead to more polarization, creating a self-perpetuating cycle of conflict. It's disheartening to see people blame each other instead of seeking solutions but this is because polarization has compounding effects, making it difficult to resolve issues. To address this problem, we should: 1) Address the problems faced by all parties involved, clarify misunderstandings, and resolve conflicts. 2)Establish mutual red lines and ensure malicious actors face consequences. De-escalation efforts and frameworks for problem resolution are crucial. 3)Reverse the mental poison caused by polarizing incidents and misunderstandings to prevent further escalation. People who spew hatred and resort to violence are mentally poisoned, which could stem from negative experiences, fear, or misunderstanding. This vulnerability can lead to increasing extremism due to the compounding effects of polarization. This is not a critique of any specific group or organization; it's a human weakness that affects everyone. There are those with legitimate concerns that become more extreme due to unresolved issues and the compounding effects of polarization. Polarization is common in many countries apart from INDIA, for ex USA, where deep divisions based on religion, culture, or other differences can lead to mistrust and violence. IF NOT ON RELIGION THEN ON CULTURE, IF NOT CULTURE THEN SOME OTHER DIFFERENCES. Leaders, too, can be mentally poisoned, spreading harmful ideas and actions to larger populations. Individuals with resources can organize hackathons to encourage collaboration and innovative solutions to these problems. These issues cause massive destruction, fear, mistrust, and hatred in society. They must be addressed before they worsen. Incidents reported by polarized individuals in the media often exacerbate polarization, some may do it for money but most often out of genuine belief. DIFFERENT STAGES => FEAR -> ANGER -> HATRED -> VIOLENCE WATCH YOUR WORDS AND YOUR ACTIO

I am ready to protest against the malicious accusations against Gerosa by the two MLA'. I strongly urge the Diocese of Mangalore to file FIR against Vedavyasa Kamath and Dr Bharath Shetty for inciting young children brains, pushing and organizing children to indulge in communal violence maliciously accusing Gerosa Teacher. The Diocese must take action by filing FIR against Bharat Shetty and Vedavyasa Kamath who were personally with the children making fun of the Teacher without any cause.
