Mumbai: Vijaya College, Mulki global alumni association holds special meeting

Mumbai, Feb 12: Vijaya college Mulki alumni association Mumbai unit has merged with its global alumni association and spread its activities representing the former students of the college. Its special meeting was held at the Metro Hotel auditorium, Sakinaka on Feb 3.

New office bearers and committee members for the term of the years 2024-2026 were elected during the meeting. Anand Shetty was elected honorary president, Vasudev M Salian, as the president, advocate Shekar S Bhandary as the vice president, Bhaskar B Shetty as the honorary chief secretary and CA Rohitaksha Devadiga as the honorary chief treasurer. CA Shankar Shetty, CA Somanath Kunder, CA Kishore Kumar Suvarna, Ashok Devadiga, Pravin B Shetty, Ranjan Shetty, Lawrence D’ Souza, Prasad Bhandary, Lakshmish Rao, Sarita Rao and Swarna Jyothi were elected as committee members.

“The annual friendly gathering of the association will be held at Mumbai Metro Hotel, Sakinaka at 5.30 pm on March 2. Newly elected president of Bantara Sangha, former student of Vijaya college, Pravin Bhoja Shetty will be the chief guest. Vijaya college management committee president Suhas Hegde and college principal Dr Srimani Shetty will be the guests of honor. The respects to the teachers for the current year will be received by college retired professors Nagaraja Nayak and Anusooya Karkera. Former students Aikala Vishwanath Shetty, Mohandas Hejmady, Shashikanth M Kotian and Vaggevi Kanchan will receive awards for special achievements. The children of former students will be felicitated considering their educational achievements,” said the office bearers of Vijaya college alumni global association.
