Another video of student cleaning school toilet goes viral in Kolar

Bengaluru, Feb 2 (IANS): Another incident of school children cleaning school toilets at the Government Junior Primary School in Bynahalli village in Kolar district has gone viral on social media despite the Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah warnings against such acts.

The video -- which shows the school girl cleaning the toilet -- was captured by the locals and demanded strict action against the school authorities.

Two students have been recorded on camera, cleaning toilets in a government school on January 30. The incident follows a pattern which has emerged across various schools in the state. This incident marks the third such case in the past two months.

The previous incident included students being sent down toilet pits in Kolar at the Yelavalli Morarji Desai Residential School. The development had created a public outrage. The Education Department had suspended the headmistress. In another case the headmistress of the Government Model Primary School in Bengaluru was arrested.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar had warned against engaging students to clean toilets at the school.

I dont think there is anything wrong if children clean the toilets. Dont we do it in our own houses? If one goes to toilet and finds it dirty, there is every possibility of cleaning the place before use. Media needs some masala to put up in their news. They may even ask the students to pose for such photos and put it up in news.

Its ok if every student of the school does that. cleaning job should be equally distributed between students, We Indians lack cleaning lessons, even my kids wont clean their own toilets, its us parents should teach our kids to self-dependent. this news actually opened my eyes, Soon my kids going to learn every house chores.

I don`t think there is any harm in cleaning the school building. It should be done by each and every student . When the inefficient school management can`t provide enough people to clean the toilets it is better to be done by students so that they can have a hygienic atmosphere in the school. Habit of keeping our surrounding clean is good.

Simple question. What is the meaning of Moral science in schools ? If such a act students will get sick from school toilets. We need to teach hygienic environment starting from school toilets. Why our mother and sisters are not cleaning in home ? some time we also do deep cleaning in house. whats wrong in this ? Making issue only and news nonsense.

My opinion is just like Physical traing class, Government must introduce home science subjects in all educational institutions, main topic should be teaching toilet cleaning and housekeeping. All problems will solve.

Spread the cleaning Job evenly among all the students without Discrimination. Give them enough protective gear like Gloves and Masks. The teachers also should join and set examples. When our parents or dear ones become very old that they cannot handle daily routine like going to toilet on their own, we have to give our hand. We have to clean their toilets too. A child who is not used to cleaing toilets in their childhood, will never come near and do this. He will try to find some domestic help which in these days will be very difficult to get. Most Destitudes, Nomadic people and the Sick will be without hygine, if we have a elitist culture we will never go to help them. they may be smelling bad, they may have unattended wounds but they are the ones who needs us the most. So Government please bring some guidelines and do not Ban the cleaning.

I'm sure most of the students who went to govt primary schools in DK have done the cleaning of school building irrespective of classroom or office or toilets including me. It was not an issue back then, it was on rotational and everyone had got to do the cleaning, caste and religion didn't matter Even, none of the parents complained. Ofcourse it's a govt school, how one can expect cleaning staff when there is shortage of teaching staff in the first place
