Moodbidri: Carmel School commemorates Martyrs’ Day

Moodbidri, Feb 1: Carmel School, Moodbidri celebrated Peace Day or Martyrs’ Day on January 30. Martyrs' Day in India, also known as Shaheed Diwas, is observed on January 30 every year. This is the day the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi was assassinated in 1948.

The programme was organized by grade 9 A students. The event commenced with a serene prayer service accompanied by a melodious peace song. The welcome dance captivated the audience with its graceful performance.

The esteemed chief guest, Mamatha Mohan, teacher from Tulsi Coaching Class, Moodbidri, was greeted warmly by Sr Preena, who presented a potted sapling as a symbol of growth and harmony. The programme featured a thought-provoking skit emphasizing the profound message that ‘Peace only destroys.’

In her insightful speech, Mamatha Mohan commended the programme and conveyed golden principles, urging everyone to be unique, confident, and think positively. Sr Ranitha expressed gratitude by presenting a token of respect to the chief guest. Teacher Sangeetha was appreciated for training the students for this programme.
