Mangaluru, Jan 31: Commissioner of Income Tax (Appeals), Mangaluru S Renga Rajan inaugurated the renovated playground of Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat Higher Primary School, Attavar on Wednesday, January 31. The initiative was taken by the Income Tax Sports and Recreation Club Mangaluru in collaboration with Northern Sky Properties.

Speaking at the event, commissioner of Income Tax S Renga Rajan said, "We, the Income Tax department, have taken up the initiative to renovate the playground, which was not in good condition, by raising funds. It is crucial to have a good children's play area, which is also useful for the healthy mind and body of children."

Managing director of Daijiworld Media, Walter Nandalike, congratulated the Income Tax Sports and Recreation Club for renovating the playground of Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat Higher Primary School, Attavar, and for choosing a government school for renovation. He mentioned, "When you hear the name of income tax officials, you think about tax collectors. Today, they have shown the other side of Income Tax officials. Other than collecting tax, they are also doing the duty of charity."

Walter Nandalike urged students of Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat Higher Primary School to aspire to become IRS, IPS, IAS officers when they reach the 5th or 6th standard. He also encouraged teachers to teach students about UPSC exams, get in touch with role models in IPS, IRS, IAS so that children aspire to become government officers. Additionally, he recommended students watch the Hindi movie '12th Fail' to get inspired.

Actor Bojaraj Vamanjoor appreciated the sincere work of income tax officials and commended their gesture of renovating the playground of the government school. He reminisced about his difficult study days and expressed that today, things have changed completely with many opportunities to learn, and several organizations are coming forward to help schools. He wished students success in their careers.

The Income Tax Sports and Recreation Club Mangaluru took the initiative to renovate Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat Higher Primary School, Attavar, under Swachhata Pakhwada. The government school got a different look with a newly painted school building, interlock, water cooler, and a renovated children's play area.

Actor Naveen D Padil, Mangaluru Income Tax department additional commissioner of Sankar Ganesh, deputy commissioner Vaishak P R, C A Sham Bhat, headmistress Maya R S, and headmaster Raghavendra Rao were present.
