The unfortunate incident occurred when a water tank collapsed as she disposed of a plate after partaking in a Prasada meal.

Srilatha, who had served as the gram panchayat president, was attending the annual Maripooje ceremony at the temple on Tuesday. The collapse of the water tank resulted in her untimely demise, while her daughter sustained serious injuries and was admitted to Manipal KMC Hospital.

very sad .untimely death due to someones negligence or faulty work.Who will answer to this? How old was the tank ?Looks itself it is not built accordingly.Heartfelt sympathy to family.Wish daughter will recover soon and come home.Water has enorm pressure ,so must have given more strong walls inside itself.Instead of round ,quadrat might have been better.Well now too late.May her soul may rest in Peace.

In INDIA the Importance of SAFETY is Negligible. No SYSTEM thinks about the structure or anything which cause danger in FUTURE.the REASON is Once again the COST.No institutions Bear the HEAVY maintenance COST.only Government Functions TAKE CARE of SAFETY as there is No Cash Transfer ONLY BILLS which they Pass in Next Tenure of New Government.!! We can see so many VIOLATIONS of safety Norms Around You.

RIP! Very unfortunate and tragic accident; crude construction of such a large water tank without reinforcement bars and concrete, that too in a place where many people congregate for prayers, divine blessings, etc; the administration authorities out there are responsible for not having had regular check on the soundness of the crude brick/cement tank! Anything can happen anytime; people should be very careful and not trust on anything blindly; two days ago in Loretto, an elderly couple died a very painful death due to accidental 🔥....! In this particular case some trust or organisation should compensate these innocent, devotees, victims generously 😞🙏🙏 ..

RIP : as per scientific reason Tanks should be built round in shape so that impact of the water force will not fall one side it rotates inside the tank without effecting the walls .
