Mumbai: Billawar Association Celebrates ‘Guru Narayan Jayanti’

Mumbai, Sep 12: Billawar Association celebrated ‘Guru Narayan Jayanti’ with pomp and gaiety at Billawa Bhavan, Santa Cruz (East), on Sunday September 11.
 
The non-stop 24-hour chanting of ‘Om Namoh Narayanaya Namaha Shivaya’ was held from Saturday September 10 to Sunday September 11 morning, in preparation of the grand celebrations.
 
Swami Niranjan of Ambika Annapoorneshwari temple, Sunkadakatte, delivered a religious discourse on the occasion.  Suvarna Baba of Mahashesha Rundamalini Mandir, Panchakuteer, Powai, also blessed the devotees.
 


Billavar Association president Jaya C Suvarna presided over the stage programme on Sunday morning.
 
Entrepreneur Chinmaya Gowda was the chief guest.
 
Syndicate Bank retired manager Chandrashekar Putran and sculptor Rohit R Poojary stressed the significance of Guru Narayan Jayanti celebrations.
 
Billawar Association vice-presidents L V Amin, Nityanand D Kotian and C T Salian, honorary treasurer Uday S Salian, joint treasurer Mahesh Karkal, women’s wing president Jayanti Salian, and Seva Dal commandant Ganesh K Poojary were present on the dais.
 
The religious committee secretary Dharmapal G Anchan rendered the prayers. Mohandas Poojary welcomed the gathering.  Jyoti Suvarna compered the programme and Dharmapal Anchan proposed the vote of thanks.
