Karnataka Congress govt to fall after May 2024: H D Kumaraswamy

Mandya, Dec 11 (IANS): Former Chief Minister and JD(S) state President H.D. Kumaraswamy said on Monday that the Congress government in Karnataka will fall after May 2024.

Speaking after participating in a religious programme in the Belathur village in Mandya district, Kumaraswamy said the Congress government in Karnataka will not complete its five-year tenure.

“I will continue to be a voice of the people. Do not think that no work has been taken up. Give us six months’ time. It is my responsibility to stand with local MLA and get the work done. Do not get outraged at our MLA,” he stated.

Kumaraswamy further charged that the development work has come to standstill because of the Congress government. “I will take all responsibility to deliver,” he stated.

H.T. Manju, the JD(S) MLA from the K.R. Pet constituency, said that the region can see progress only if Kumaraswamy becomes the Chief Minister.

Kumaraswamy has been repeatedly making statements about the fall of the Congress government. He had even stated that one of the ministers had spoken to him and also indicated a development like Maharashtra in Karnataka.

    The simple fact that if the EVMs are counted giving a break of 10-12 days, after the polling days, in every state BJP will emerge as winner in 2024 elections. If the counting is done within 3-4 days of polls, BJP will be wiped out from every state. Like it or not 2024 elections will be held definately with a period spanning over 2 months, i.e. 60days, to the final count.

    I just do not understand why such an important democratic process has to be carried out electronically???... Most developed nations vote with paper ballots... In fact those are the nations who must think of going electronic for lack of human resources... In India we have one biggest asset... Out population and available people to carry out election duties... Moreover environmental considerations really do not stand regarding paper waste... Nowadays recycled paper is in use for one time temporary use everywhere... Not really doubting the election commission and supporting depts... But in this case we can surely do without the machines... Process may take a little more time but will be more transparent n trustworthy...

    Elections in the past 7decades many of which though handled manually, used to take max 30days. Then results are out. Remember hand counting of every vote. Despite digital progress in every section, it takes 30-60days, with EC excuses from security to what not. Recently held elections gives a clear hint on why the days to count are increased, instead of decreaing in digital revolution.
