Kundapur: Senior theater artiste Ashok Shanubhogue passes away

Kundapur, Dec 9: Senior theatre artiste of Mooru Muthu fame of Roopakala Kundapur organization, actor Ashok Shanubhogue (54), passed away due to brief illness.

Ashok Shanubhogue, son of Pattan Shet, Hulimane the late Narayana Shanubhogue and the late Kasturi Shanubhogue, entered Roopakala organization as a child artiste in 1979 through ‘Satya Harishchandra’ and ‘Tipu Sultan’ dramas. After completing his education, he was involved continuously in stage and cinema acting.

Ashok was self-employed and theatre was a major part of his life. He was the fond disciple of the late Balakrishna Pai (Kullappu) of Roopakala organization. He donned lead roles in 53 dramas of Kullappu and 11 dramas penned by Satish Pai. The dramas of Roopakala played more than 7000 shows in Kannada and Konkani.

    Ashok was versatile actor, who brought smiles on our faces by sheer talent. 54 is too early for leaving this world, but god has different plans for each individual Along with Pai brother's , he was a hit with acting & dialogue delivery We will miss him! RIP my friend!

    Very sad to hear about the untimely demise of Mr Ashok Shanubhogue. An amazing actor. His role in Mooru Mutthugalu is still vivid in our memory. May his soul rest in peace.
