Mumbai, Sep 4: Passengers of Jet Airways flight 9W 592 to Bahrain from Mumbai on Sunday Sep 4 were in for scare after an anonymous caller claimed that there was a bomb on board.

After two hours of thorough search by security forces, nothing suspicious was found and the call was declared a hoax.

The Kochi-Mumbai-Bahrain Boeing 737 flight, with 154 passengers on board, had to be delayed by two hours and finally took off at 9.30 pm.

Following the bomb threat, security agencies including the Central Industrial Security Force and Mumbai Airports Authority were alerted and the Kochi-Mumbai-Bahrain flight was thoroughly checked.

"The flight was rescheduled following a non-specific bomb threat call received at our call centre," an airline official said.

"Security forces have completed necessary checks and the Boeing 737 flight with 154 passengers and crew members has been rescheduled," the airline said in a statement.

Meanwhile, efforts are on to trace the call, it is learnt.
