Mangaluru: MRPL road to be named after Capt Pranjal - Mayor Sudhir Shetty Kannur

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (MS)

Mangaluru, Nov 28: The mayor of the Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) Sudhir Kumar Shetty Kannur said that MRPL road at Surathkal will be named after Capt Pranjal, who died in the fight with terrorists at Rajauri in Jammu and Kashmir.

Speaking to media, the mayor said, “Capt Pranjal’s father is the former managing director of the MRPL. Pranjal used to walk on the same road every day during his childhood. Hence it is suitable to name that road after him. In the next general body meeting of the MCC, this matter will be presented and then sent to the government after approval. There is a proposal by Dr Bharat Shetty to name the Kottara Chowki Circle after Capt Pranjal. This will also be discussed.”

MLA Dr Bharat Shetty said that he has written a letter to the MCC urging them to name the Katipalla-Suratkal circle after Capt Pranjal.

MRPL Road was formerly called Surathkal – Bajpe Road stretching a distance of about 18 Km. This is one of the oldest main roads in the district. Normally short distance roads or streets in a town or within city limits are named after personalities. So I think it will be apt to name the inner main road starting near railway bridge to – Chokabettu – Krishnapura – Katipalla Kaikamba be named after Capt. Pranjal. So in future all bus Nos. 15 and 45 passing through this route can display name of the road on their boards.

Completing a small stretch of road takes us thousands of years, yet we swiftly engage in the activity of naming and renaming. Shifting our focus to the essentials—ensuring the road's quality, pavements, grading, etc.—is crucial. Once the road is finally completed, we find ourselves digging again, this time to lay a small cable from the other side, illustrating the approach of our planners and lawmakers. Concurrently, there's a group consistently glorifying the past, making claims like India had airplanes and the ability to reach Mars without being physically present. I wonder if the road would ever be named after a martyred Shudra Soldier. While I express due respect to the martyred soldier, my concern lies in the political games played by politicians in the name of caste and religion

Bharath shetty should first check the condition of the road. Re-naming the road is really easy. Repairing the road isn't. Do your job first.

Appreciate all these efforts by the administration and capt Pranjal deserves all this respect for the sacrifice he made for the nation. But question still arises, how long we will have to sacrifice the previous life when Pakistan with some local help continue to attack us in the name of islam and hell bent to divide our nation yet again in the name of islam and install islamic caliphate in Kashmir. Is there a no end to this? Our security establishment RAW has no plans to eliminate those islamic jihadist? Is there a lack of funds for the gov to accomplish this mission? local MLA must bring this up to delhi gov and we cannot affort to lost another Pranjal ever, enough is enough we must break the backbone of pakistan and make the stop dreaming of dividing kashmir in the name of islam. Not an inch of Hindustan will be allowed to let go away. Jai hind.

This is the way all can remember Great sacrifice to the nation by CAPT PRANJAL-- one can say least -- His Father heading MRPL -- a Navarathna among public sector -- did not go however to corporate sector -- Could have got A cushy job -- in any organisation -- as is natural-- not by influence etc as he was also being a bright student -- a merit student ---- would have been selected easily /earning very well -- BUT CHOSE TO SERVE THE NATION -- IT IS ALSO extremely sad to note he leaves behind aged parents and wife --
