Mumbai: Praveen Bhoja Shetty appointed as new president of Bunts Sangha for 2023-2026

Mumbai, Nov 26: The general assembly unanimously selected the 31st president of the Bunts Sangha in the 95th annual general meeting of the Buntara Sangha held under the presidentship of Chandrahasa K Shetty, president of the Buntara Sangh Mumbai, at Radhabai Thimmappa Bhandari Sabhagriha of Buntar Bhavan, Chunnabhatti, Kurla east in the morning of November 26 chief electoral officer D K Shetty revealed the list of members elected to the executive committee and announced the selection of the new president.

The outgoing president Chandrahasa K Shetty gave the bouquet to the new president Praveen Bhoja Shetty. After that, federation of World Bunt's Association president Aikala Harish Shetty congratulated and wished the new president. Karnire Vishwanath Shetty, Ulthur Mohandas Shetty of federation were present.

Praveen Bhoja Shetty was born on January 10, 1961, to Mallabettu Paradi Bhoja Shetty of Elluru and Nalina Bhoja Shetty of Shirlal Gandhibettu House Andaru in Udupi district of Karnataka coast. After completing his primary education at Irandadi School, Ellur, the school where his father served, completed his secondary education and pre-graduation at Adamaru Pre-Graduation College, Mulki completed his BCom degree from Vijaya College. He came to Mumbai in 1981 with the cooperation of his uncle Sitaram K Shetty and started as article for Y R Shetty and Co, a reputed chartered accountant firm.

Later, in 1990, Praveen B. Shetty and company became his own company in Parel. He started 'Tax Adviser' and ventured into customer service. After almost 21 years of continuous hard work and very loyal and sincere service, in 2011 the second branch was started at Vileparle East. With an immense experience of nearly three and a half decades in the financial arena, he is currently serving as the most preferred tax advisor to over 1200 satisfied clients.

His service feature is that he has earned the trust of the customers by completing the work undertaken within the stipulated time and continues to serve with the same sincerity and enthusiasm even today. Shetty, who has also started other businesses along with his professional life, is Nisarga Hospitality Private Limited Mangalore, Godavari Inn Hotels Private Limited Dahisar, Shreyas Fast Food Pvt Ltd Malad, Sai Sankalp Trades Pvt Ltd Parel as director, partner in these firms also. Presently serving as director of World Bunts Federation and secretary of Buntara Association Matrubhumi Cooperative Credit Society Limited.

Praveen Bhoja Shetty, who arrived in Mumbai about 42 years ago, was appointed as the internal auditor of Buntara Sangh Mumbai in 1991. Bhujanga M Shetty spoke about Praveen Bhoja Shetty in the AGM of Buntara Sangh held at that time, he said, "This time, because of Praveen Bhoja Shetty, the accounts of the association were ready at the right time and the AGM was held at the right time."

Later, he served as secretary of Higher Education Committee of Buntara Sangh Mumbai, treasurer of Buntara Sangh, Powai Education Committee (S M Shetty Education Institute), Buntara Sangh Mumbai and also served as joint treasurer and honorary treasurer as well as treasurer of Matrubhumi Cooperative Society.

Praveen has collected the most donations for the higher education committee project of Bunts Sangh Mumbai in the year 2008 to 2011 and has been honoured by the Sangh for the higher education loan scholarship scheme established under the leadership of Bunts Sangh Mumbai in the year 2013 on World Buntara Day. Besides, he is currently working as the coordinator of that scheme. He is honoured for mobilizing the highest amount of deposit in Matrubhumi Society in 2017 to 2018 and 2018 to 2019.

From 2008 to 2012 he served as the secretary of the Brahmakalasha Restoration Mumbai Committee of Sri Vishwanath Temple, Mumbai, and served as a trustee from 2012 to 2015. In addition to professional and social service, Shetty has a great admiration and taste for our Tulava culture of Kambala, Yakshagana, dram, and has contributed financially to many Sangha and for renovations of temples as a patron.

The initial three years of coming to Mumbai were very difficult, settling in around 13 places during my training as a CA (Chartered Accountant) and even after that. It was with the full support of VAYR Shetty that he achieved what he is today in the society. Full credit for his growth to this level. He sincerely says that YR Shetty should be credited and says that it is a matter of admiration and happiness to be known as Praveen Bhoja Shetty at present in Buntara Sangh. He is grateful to all those who have contributed to his success.

Praveen Shetty says that the success of my life is due to the cooperation and support of his wife Nainita Praveen Shetty and only daughter Abhiksha Siddhant Shetty. I wish Praveen Bhoja Shetty, who is known as a simple, gentlemanly and kind-hearted orator, to do many more social works.
