Honeybees usually sting in defense of their hive if they feel threatened. Negligence around a hive or disturbing the bees could trigger defensive behavior. Lighting camphor might also be perceived as a threat, causing bees to react defensively. It's important to be cautious around bees to avoid provoking them. Even though the devotees unknowingly lighted the camphor, it should be an eye opener in future to observe surroundings before doing any harm to bees and take precautions. When bees 🐝 attack, do not panic, don’t run but move slowly, lying face down also good idea if one finds no shelter or vehicles. Cover face. Do not jump in water which is a bad idea. Try to remove the sting carefully and seek urgent medical aid.
