Mangaluru: Konkani Bhasha Mandal Karnataka receives Jesuit Konkani institute’s backing

Mangaluru, Nov 22: “Two old organizations have joined in the service of Konkani mother tongue. It is an auspicious indication”, said Fr Melwin Pinto.

He was speaking as his contribution to the celebrations of 50 years of Konkani Bhasha Mandal as the rector of Jesuit educational institute in Mangaluru. He assured that St Aloysius College’s Konkani department under his control will actively participate in the day-long celebrations at the town hall here on January 9, 2024.

Programme convener and Konkani Bhasha Mandal Karnataka secretary Raymond D’ Cunha gave the details in the beginning.

President K Vasanth Rao welcomed. Vice president Rathnakar Kudva, Aloysius Konkani institute convener Flora Castelino and Jochim Pinto were present.
